Move RadMac to Radio 2 and replace that utter moron Steve Wright.

I tell you who annoys me the most though, Janie Lee fking Grace. Authority on everything, knows nothing.

Frankly this is just fiddling around the edges by the BBC. They need to get rid of Jeremy "has your cat got stuck up a tree, if so phone in now" Vine and Steve "fking serious jockin' " Wright and until they do I'll turn to something else when Ken Bruce finishes his programme and not go back until simon Mayo.

The answer to Radio 2 is BBC 6 music.

Apart from Huey and Craig, the presenters are total tits.

By pure chance I was in the same room as her (at R2) some years ago and overheard her on the phone to someone. No idea who it was but how they didn't hang up on her is one of life's great mysteries.....
"I can tell you're just trying end the discussion now but you're wasting your time. It's not over until I say so"
Just rude.

How's that work then, considering they're co-presenting, not alternating?

Well he isn't getting it, they've extended the show by an hour. I can't really see the logic behind this one.

At least Cox is out of reach now doing 10 - 12pm, hopefully that means she won't be able to get up for Evans' show when he isn't there.

What we need is Craig Charles to do Wrights show, Charles is a very good all-rounder and comes over very well on the radio.
Oh and more Lisa Tarbrush, I like her.

I don't get this either. They go on to mention equal pay as if it's a good thing, it's not because they are paying for 2 premium DJ's in a single show!

I was beside myself with excitement when I saw Jo was being moved because I assumed she was replacing Steve, then I read it and I don't get it.
They made a big deal on the BBC news that Jo was ‘the first woman on daytime radio in xx years’ - pretty poor for our preaching leftie state broadcaster.

I can feel the rage bubbling up in me already!

She also finds EVERY single thing anyone says hilarious.....that laugh.....can't tell you how much that grates on me.

I read that, but wasn't Fearne Cotton on in the morning for ages? Or was that just standing in for someone?

Getting rid of him and his awful program would be my first priority. But the guy who impersonates him on Steve Wright is utterly brilliant.

I would like to see Jo Wiley with a daytime slot. Pushing Sara Cox to the graveyard shift probably means that she will no longer sit in when Chris Evans is away.

So, during the times when most people listen, nothing much has changed.

^^ Sara Cox on twitter today saying that she is still covering for Evans in addition to her late show.

I'm surprised how amid all the criticism and vitriol for Wright and Vine that Ken Bruce gets off scot-free. This little re-shuffle is actually quite pathetic. Time for a complete rethink regarding presenters.

And why does the station change character completely at the weekend? Makes no sense.

I have had the misfortune to listen to R2 a couple of times recently whilst in a car with a work colleague; it seems exactly the same as it was about 10 years ago, but with older presenters! I found it dire in the extreme, which is why I stopped listening in the first place. Shuffling the deck chairs does not improve the situation.
Try BBC 6 Music, The Arrow, Planet Rock, Radio Paradise, Soma FM, or even Spotify....

I really enjoy R2 at the weekend, listen to it most of Saturday and most of Sunday if I'm honest.

You can blame in a small part for the ratings hehe

I listen on Sundays. I quite enjoy Michael Ball, Elaine Page and Paul O'Grady. However, I really miss the older lineups that I had listened to from the 1970s right through to the mid 2000s -

Desmond Carrington
Alan Dell
Benny Green
Charlie Chester
Alan Keith
Malcolm Laycock
David Jacobs

(sadly, all dead now)

Later permutations were OK

Russell Davies
Richard Baker
Alan Titchmarsh

But even they've gone to other time slots, other stations or retired.

I quite like the mix of music Len Goodman plays when he sits in for O'Grady. Claudia Winkleman is just about bearable.

However, I have discovered that Russell Davies is back on Radio 2 with a programme very similar to what he used to host on Sundays. It's now late on Monday night but iPlayer should sort that out. Also, Barry Humphries (of Edna Everage fame) is hosting a programme on pre-war radio music which is just down my street. I love that era of dance bands, crooners and early big bands.

The recent insertion of Ore Oduba was terrible - and I ended up switching him off.

Desmond Carrington was great wasn't he, I also really enjoyed Leo Greens show.

A lot of great names have gone now more's the pity, of course Brian Matthew being one of the best....sorely missed.

Still lots to be enjoyed on R2 and just avoid the ones you don't like. It's not difficult.

I like;
Paul O'Grady
Dermott
Evans
Tarbuck
Ball
Norton
Winklepicker
Blackburn
Charles
Perry

To name but a few.....but then I don't tend to listen to the daytime in the week so I'm happy hehe
