I really like Craig Charles when he fills in on R2. I guess I should jump over to 6 music.

I can't wait for Chris Evans to come back, Sara Cox is dreadful in comparison to the point where I've had the ipod plugged in for the run to work in the morning.
She's only slightly less st than that fanta pubed moron Evans. See this is where I really miss Terry Wogan - he would ease you into the morning with his gentle Irish patter. No screeching or shouting unlike these two other pricks.

The moment I heard who it was I shouted "OOOOOOOOoooo Gary Davies".

If only someone else was there to hear it - I laughed anyway.

Always a bonus when there’s a stand-in for SW. Nice to hear Gary Davis again.

Gary should have a job instead of the "right northern DJs". Why did he leave anyway?

I did exactly the same laugh good to hear him back on the wireless

Bit of a thread revival..but just wanted to say thanks to Radio 2 for todays show about Ronnie Wood, one of the best things I have heard on radio 2 for a while..and I would never have thought that dreadful, boring Rice woman would have been the best for this..but she was wonderful..well bugger me biggrin

Soon hopefully. Along with shouty Chris Evans, the odious Jeremy 'listen to me' Vine, the sycophantic Michael Ball, the talentless Zoe Ball and the oily Trevor Nelson. The only R2 shows I can bear to listen to now are Ken Bruce's and Simon Mayo's. Yes, I am old smile

Quite enjoy Chris - although he is marmite. Can't stand Daily Mail Vine. Wright needs the boot.....

He must have something on management. I can't think of any other reason he can get away with peddling the same st for 35-odd years without a break.

I listen to radio 2 very little these days. The only presenters I can stomach are Ken Bruce, Johny walker and, curiously perhaps Steve Wright.

However, the content, irrespective of presenters, has actually gone south drastically. Too much self promotion of the beeb , and far too many interviews with boring "celebrities" , utterly dire, enough to make ones ears bleed. I find myself listening more to classic fm, and Gold, when I can get it. Other than that , its the good old cd, no wittering from bores on them.

Well, clearly a lot of people like him and his show as it has the highest listening figures of any other afternoon radio show in the country (yes, I know his figures are national but a lot of otherwise regional radio stations can now be listened to via DAB or the net so its not much of an argument). Until they drop significantly he's likely to stay there unless he wants to go.

I actually prefer him to any other afternoon show that I can receive.

Yes, I agree. When he's replaced by anyone from Tarrant to Charles to Anyone-else it improves immeasurably.
