Watched it last night, I'm not sure Dana deserved to go tbh but I think she's maybe been middle of the road for a few weeks now and never really stunned the judges with anything. I think Matty got lucky if I'm honest and don't think he'll last much longer. Saku has had two rough weeks now and needs to pull her socks up.
I also get unreasonably annoyed with the whole "See you in the morning" thing, especially obvious in this episode as it was DARK when they finished one of the tasks. Hadn't even thought about them wearing the same thing twice but makes sense.
I felt really bad for Tasha this week, she was clearly very stressed out which I assume prompted her to switch to sign for most of the last task. That said, I wasn't much impressed with her show-stopper and dare I say the judges went a bit over the top with their praise for it?

Well Extra Slice, Jo Brand got the usual cheap shot laugh for calling Matt Hancock a "tt".
Pity she didn't extend that to the person on the show who qualifies for that description the most, Tom "One Trick Pony" Allen.
You think Tom Allen is more deserving of our distain than Matt Hancock? Pity she didn't extend that to the person on the show who qualifies for that description the most, Tom "One Trick Pony" Allen.

What's next, mid sentence discussing a cake Brand suddenly shouts out " F***ing Brexit?" Sad, neither necessary nor appropriate, probably struggling to be relevant and edgy. She's another one trick pony.

Yeah same. Think there are a few behind the front runners and it'll take either something spectacular from one of them or disastrous from one of the guys at the front over the coming weeks to change it. Also did not care for botanical week.

Not going to divert thread further other to say whatever one thinks of Hancock, why should a baking show, a baking show ffs, throw in a totally off topic out of context barb like that.

I used to like JB, even saw her live show, but after her comment about throwing battery acid at politicians, I think she is vile. What's next, mid sentence discussing a cake Brand suddenly shouts out " F***ing Brexit?" What's Tom Allen done, been a bit too gay? MesoForm said:

Quite liked it as a theme - they need to have new things for the show and at least it was a baking theme and not just cooking like the themes have been in recent series. No one else finding Noel Fielding increasingly irritating/cringe/unfunny? Two prime examples on this week's show with the lemon and then trying to crack a joke whilst being completely unaware of what Christy was trying to do. He does that a lot - making crap jokes when a baker's right int he middle of something tricky.
I didn't mind him at first, and love the Boosh etc, but he does my head in a bit on this now.

They had 90 mins, syrup needs to be sorted first, Hollywood said that would take 20 mins.
Realistically they've got to be getting the sponges in with *at minimum* 50 mins to go, to allow 10 mins for a bit of resting, plating up etc. That only leaves 20 mins for making sponge batter, greasing the basins, setting up the oven steaming environment, reading and understanding the instructions.
Clearly most of them had never made steamed puddings and didn't understand the basics of how steaming is a whole different process in timing. Even the contestant who said he loved steamed puddings didn't quite get there. Says to me, deliberately sparse instructions, not enough time allowed, and contestants lacking,
Right from series 1 always been the same, time allowed on technicals a problem. Exposed when Hollywood and Berry used to do the Masterclass episodes, which is maybe why they don't do them now.
