Good episode, could have been one of a few going home but Saku has had a couple of rough weeks now and I think she's out of her comfort zone. Shame as she was probably the most entertaining for me.

Not sure I agree with Dan getting star baker, his showstopper was clever but I didn't think it actually looked all that. Thought Josh was far more consistent.

Thinking ahead to the final, I don't think Tasha will cope with the pressure well enough which is a shame as I think she's very talented but she seems to come apart when stressed. For me it'll be down to Dan or Josh, Josh has been the one who I feel has remained consistent and improved week after week with some great attention to detail.

It was close on who would go. But I guess it was fair that it was Saku as she had been scraping through each time.

Dan, Josh and Tash look favourites for the final. Each of them is very good.

Dan 100% trading on past glory there, on this week alone he should have gone Vs Christy in my opinion.

I agree. He had a mare, and must be mighty relieved. They really aren't a great bunch this year.

The missus loves this, so I watch it too. They're not that great are they? The difference in standard of these bakers vs the standard of cooks that reach the final stages of Masterchef is massive.

On the evidence of what they showed last night I'd say he just about deserved to get through. Since his poor show last night and Tasha's rather mediocre showing I'm not sure anyone this year is looking really good. Matty has done well lately but again, he could easily have a bad week and get knocked out next time. I guess that despite last night, Tasha and Dan are still favourites but time will tell.

I am still quite enjoying it though. smile

It's enjoyable despite (or maybe because) none of them are exceptional. The technical last week and this week were absolute gold due to how awful they were.

I also agree, whilst I don't think Christy would have made it any further than next week at most she didn't deserve to go over Dan this week. I maybe wonder if the judges hadn't vocalised how bad they thought he bakes were though compared to Dan (or it had been edited that way) because Dan seemed to get far more criticism than her.

It's probably also a bit the other way, that he's had so much success that the criticism comes in harder as they know he can do better. They're trying to reign him in and sculpt him as they do with most of them to get the best from them.

I think overall it's the right decision tbf, this seems like the right bunch to have got to this stage. Also quite open at this point too.

I wish Prue would not talk with her mouth full when she's judging.

I only noticed when they showed the clip of next week that the loud woman presenter wasn't on the show tonight. Much better without her.
