Yes. How has Kate managed to do so well when the 3 good ones have messed up?

I like Stevens work, hopefully he will be in the final along with Sophie (she is lovely).

As a casual viewer i think the standard is higher than the BBC version.

I thought it was for the first couple of rounds but I'm not sure it is at this stage. Anyway, does it matter?

I think this week's judging was a cop-out. The ethos of the show is that it's a knock-out competition. The competitors have to keep up a high standard or they're out.If you start saying "we'll have to look at things retrospectively " then you're moving the goalposts..

Stephen is a superb baker but he's made mistakes in the last few weeks and he really should have gone tonight. I admit Stacey isn't as good as him, but she did better tonight and by the rules of the show she should have stayed. Looks like Sophie will win now - hopefully.

Agreed. If that’s the premise, then Liam should have been in this week....

Kate’s show stopper was abysmal. They said Stacey’s was simple, but a rainbow propped up with some bits in front. Meh.

C4 have managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory with this one. The move from the Beeb was all but forgotten, and the last 2 weeks judging decisions have been questionable.

I had a feeling Kate was going to have a good week and she probably had her best yet. I couldn't separate Steven and Stacey on tonight's show so the correct decision was made by retrospectively looking at previous weeks. It's happened before.

Sophie seems to be the calmest and the most knowledgeable and should cope well with the pressure of the final. Looking forward to the final. Kate improved this week and Steven didn't maintain his usual standard. My money is still on Sophie to win though.

I'm glad Stacy is gone. She came across really oddly for the bake off. I notice they weren't all hugging and consoling here too like they were with the rest. Could just be down to editing mind.

she had to do *EVERYTHING* twice every week, she should have gone just for that. And all the bloody huffing and puffing she does.

You don't know how they edit it, but she does come across as a bit of a look at me drama queen.

Yep, I wondered that as well. She didn't seem to interact with the others in the same way. Everyone else seemed to support each other, but she was too busy wrapped up in her own little world.

My money is on Sophie, she seems pretty unflappable. Even when her meringue cracked she kept calm and fixed it.

I think Steven will go the same way as that builder chap Richard, the one with the pencil behind his ear, 2 or 3 seasins back, nerves will get to him in the final, he was really stressed in the semi.

Was it the right one went this time. Probably, but very close looking at the episode in isolation. In aggregate over series, not even close.

My money is also on Sophie winning.

TBH, as long as Kate doesn't win I'm fine - I think it would make a mockery of the show if someone who was consistently st for 3 or 4 weeks on the trot won, against Stephen or Sophie.

Kinda hope someone gives Liam a TV show though... hehe
