15 seconds in was there a typical Channel 4 route A1 comedy with a lazy poke at The Donald?

It's a baking show FFS, just give it over and get on with the cakes.

Always wondered why Bake Off was so popular. It certainly hasn’t improved with the move to Channel 4. Paul “follow the money” Hollywood especially.
If you're employer got bought out you'd leave then? He's doing the same job, just for a different parent company.

I quite enjoy this and hasn't really changed that much from the BBC version. I'm astounded that Terry didn't go home though.

Indeed. Why wouldn’t he stay with it if he wants to? Wouldn’t be the same without him anyway. Not my sort of programme but strangely compelling.

Paul said it looked like a prawn ,I was thinking in the "pron" direction, as was the lady that said it.
I thought that too, and had a good chuckle biggrin

If you watch on 4od you'll lose quite a few ads. Watched it on there last night and a couple of the ad slots just skipped straight back to the show. Felt like a little victory each time. The other slots were just sponsor ads. Took just under an hour to watch the show.
I was shocked by that, expected 6 minutes each time!

Terry dodged the bullet for 2 weeks in a row there I think.

Every time I see Kim-Joi, I think of nuts

Rahul is all sorts of stereotypes, but by crikey he can cook!

I know not everyone enjoys it, but Extra Slice seemed to work better last Friday now that it's a full hour, rather than previous versions on both C4 last year & BBC the previous years where they tried to cram as much, edited, content into 25 minutes as possible.

At least they actually spent some time talking / bantering with the contestant that got voted off, rather than previously you'd get about 3 minutes of cut / edited chat, before they were handed their custom cake and walked off stage.

Tom Allen's quick jokes relating to the baker in the audience with the "equality" biscuits was really funny. For the first minute or two the baker who'd created them had this rabbit in the headlights look on her face where she didn't know whether he was being serious and mocking her or just having a bit of banter hehe

Yes, agree it definitely worked better. Anything which takes time away from Jo Brand, plus they had some funny guests.

Rapidly getting brassed off with the increasingly lengthy and convoluted intro from Toksvig and Fielding. Lose it, please.

I prefer the new cast, Noel and Sandi are actually amusing for one thing.

You have to be kidding? Mel is less amusing than a rectal prolapse and Sue is devoid of any noticeable skill or ability whatsoever, other than being able to speak. They could have replaced those two with Pol Pot and Adam Sandler and it would have been an improvement of many magnitudes.

Couldn't agree more. The 2 presenters now are far far better than I ever expected. I prefer Prue to Mary Berry as a judge and the change to CH4 seems to have had a relaxing effect on Paul which is nice to see. I thought last years contestants were the best we'd ever had and so far this year I haven't found anyone I don't like.

Moving to CH4 was the best thing that ever happened to the show.

Yep. I’d agree with all of that. Used to think Mel and Sue were quite funny but i struggled with them on bake off.

I like Rahul's mannerism. Not so keen on Prue's necklace this week.
