Always wondered why Bake Off was so popular. It certainly hasn’t improved with the move to Channel 4. Paul “follow the money” Hollywood especially.
If you're employer got bought out you'd leave then? He's doing the same job, just for a different parent company.S100HP said:
If you watch on 4od you'll lose quite a few ads. Watched it on there last night and a couple of the ad slots just skipped straight back to the show. Felt like a little victory each time. The other slots were just sponsor ads. Took just under an hour to watch the show.
I was shocked by that, expected 6 minutes each time!I know not everyone enjoys it, but Extra Slice seemed to work better last Friday now that it's a full hour, rather than previous versions on both C4 last year & BBC the previous years where they tried to cram as much, edited, content into 25 minutes as possible.
At least they actually spent some time talking / bantering with the contestant that got voted off, rather than previously you'd get about 3 minutes of cut / edited chat, before they were handed their custom cake and walked off stage.
Tom Allen's quick jokes relating to the baker in the audience with the "equality" biscuits was really funny. For the first minute or two the baker who'd created them had this rabbit in the headlights look on her face where she didn't know whether he was being serious and mocking her or just having a bit of banter

Yes, agree it definitely worked better. Anything which takes time away from Jo Brand, plus they had some funny guests. At least they actually spent some time talking / bantering with the contestant that got voted off, rather than previously you'd get about 3 minutes of cut / edited chat, before they were handed their custom cake and walked off stage.

Rapidly getting brassed off with the increasingly lengthy and convoluted intro from Toksvig and Fielding. Lose it, please.

I quite enjoy this and hasn't really changed that much from the BBC version. .
Apart from all the adverts, worse presenters, unlikeable contestants etc...DrSteveBrule said:
