The GBBO # on twitter is alive with folk saying its ste and a fix.

Many commenting that Paul's been noticeable arsey to Manon over last few weeks, maybe made advances and shes fobbed him off?

I know its a silly baking show but i've entered national figure painting competitions and if someone entered in work to the standard Rahul had tonight, he'd have been out with nerry a word of goodbye.

Manon being a bit french with the stuff okay maybe not right, but at least it was edible!

I wonder if producers are starting to play favourites for who makes better telly.

Also Paul being a massive ahole tonight to all, and made Kim Joy cry, which i hate when they linger on that, edit it out and give them a minute to compose themselves instead of continue to ask questions when someone is clearly trying not to become a sobbing embarrassed mess.

Gone right off the program after tonights episode. I hope Ruby or Kim Joy win
He didn't make her cry. He told what she had done wrong and she cried about it. There's a difference.

Yeah edit it out though. Cringy.

The cakes weren’t even burnt, collateral damage after Hollywood’s fake tan machine exploded due to overuse.

Yes, Paul didn't actually go out to make her upset, its more the showing it and Paul and Pru still trying to carry on when clearly she is going to bawl for a bit, but its TV and i feel on C4 its going to go more that way.

One thing my wife doesn't like about the C4 version is that as part of the BBC they had to have something educational, so you got the bits where Mel and or Sue did a bit showing the origin of the technical bakes.

That bit of levity and change is missed.

I'll meet you at the entrance. I bet Hollywood would like to "donate" one to Manon.

I enjoyed Ruby discussing her 'holes'.

But then I am very silly.

It was Danish week and Manon made an overwhelmingly sweet flavoured open sandwich on a slice of French loaf and some Pain au Chocolat. Rahul made terrible rye and Danish pastry.

In my working environment, I would be forgiven for doing what was asked but make a complete hash of it. If I was asked to do something and decided to do something entirely different because it played to my strengths, questions would be asked.

You could argue that Rahul does the same thing as everything is Indian inspired and/or is built around Indian flavours, but at the end of the day he made rye bread and he made Danish pastries, however poorly.

Shame Manon went the week before Patisserie week!

Super impressed by the way Briony has turned it around since her early efforts.

Firstly the faces of the other contestants when they announced who was going were clearly a joint WTF moment.

Secondly Manon has been consistently trying it on. I know they're not supposed to count back previous weeks, but maybe they did if it was a draw between the two of them but didn't show it. What about the cake week where it was so hot the chocolate coating wasn't setting and she left an acrylic band on so it had more time? Or the week when she left something on the base which had to be peeled off for judging? So, though Rahul had a disaster, and he openly stated he should go, I reckon correct decision over the long term.

Smorgasbord/Smorrebrod is a Danish dish, an open sandwich basically.

Personally, I prefer the new format, more comedy / innuendo. I found those historical bits rather boring.

I was never a fan of Fielding / mightly boosh... but I think he is the star of the show here and along with Sandi make for a much better presenting pair over Mel and Sue... and I really liked them as well!

Agreed. Boosh was ok, but I never thought he'd work out. Nothing wrong with Mel & Sue, but Sandi & Noel are way better. O/T, but it's the same with QI. Didn't have a problem with Fry, but Toksvig is just miles better & IMO it's down to her stand-up days. They're all smart & educated, (all ex footlights) but Toksvig is just a better comic.

Sad that she's gone, but at the end of the day she did just ignore the instructions and bake what she wanted.

She probably should have went last week too. Paul said it was all about taste, and while hers looked great he said you couldn't even eat it.

Rahul is possibly the most annoying person I've ever witnessed, don't get how people like him?

I don't remember seeing it - did they show how kimjoy does her intricate piping? That little grid with the diagonal filled in holes was absolutely perfect. I can't figure out how I'd do that... ( can't really see it but right in the middle)

Agreed, he's driving both myself and my other half insane. He needs to mtfu a bit, he's a bit pathetic.

MraSE and I reckon he's been told to lay it on a bit thick by the producers, to get the sympathy vote. I end up shouting at the telly.

He's just a quiet shy Indian guy. I doubt he's been coached. None of them are actors, except maybe Ruby, she seems very savvy with her perfectly placed drop of icing "smeared" on her cheek and her "I know the camera is on me" outbursts. .

Are we taking bets on the next round? My prediction is that Rahul makes a great comeback and Kim-Joy stumbles. But that's only because I'm nervous and like K-J so much.
