Surprised to see Jo Brand still doing the Extra Slice, didn't she advocate throwing battery acid over a particular group not so long ago.
Can you imagine if some stale old white male comedian had said we should throw battery acid over Black Lives Matter/ Marxist supporters. Reckon he'd still be presenting prime time show?

Didn't she joke about the topic rather than "advocate" it or say we should do it?Can you imagine if some stale old white male comedian had said we should throw battery acid over Black Lives Matter/ Marxist supporters. Reckon he'd still be presenting prime time show?
Though to be fair, your second point is reasonable.
One thing it does show though is that a lot of the things people have a go at the BBC for are simply things that show they are in line with other media platforms.

Matt Lucas is terrible, about as funny as a forensic VAT inspection

I’m surprised at how unfunny Lucas is. I was expecting far better than just uttering nonsense in different accents.
Yet there he is, getting paid to be on TV, while you two bellyache for free on a forum.Anyway, back to the actual content of the show, the bakers...
Shame, not surprising though, that Rowan's gone. But, as with every year, the one who's the bee's knees at the beginning starts to struggle while it goes on, while the poor bakers start to improve. Marc "E" (Can't remember where A,B,C and D went) is really improving.

He's a naturally funny guy, I think he just needs to dial it back a touch. For me its just the wrong mix, Noel is so good at the slightly odd/out there humour and Sandy was the 'straight' guy
With Lucas and Noel they are almost out weirding each other, its not the Boosh
interestingly Paul H mentions how its wasnt a a very high standard of bread making this week on the show, but they didnt take it further - maybe because they are picking people not on their ability.............
i was totally bored this week - first time in a while with GBBO, and Lucas is getting on my nerves.
