Honestly, no? I actually presumed they were one and the same so going by your reply they aren't. Is it simply down to surgery?
They are not linked. I have transgender mates, so I know that one, I did have to look up transvestite just to remind me exactly, it was as I thought though.transgender = denoting or relating to a person whose sense of personal identity and gender does not correspond with their birth sex.
transvestite = a person, typically a man, who derives pleasure from dressing in clothes primarily associated with the opposite sex.
Paris was an interesting one; I presume the producers pick a portion of people who will struggle as this makes good TV but I still boggle at the naivety of people going in there without seemingly the faintest idea what's in store for them.
The conversation with Cracknell was a great illustrative juxtaposition between what I would see as people who are robust and self-reliant and people who are all about themselves, who seek excuses, offer bland platitudes and don't actually contribute much but retain an ill-deserved self-importance - best quote: 'I'm going to give it 100%....tomorrow'.
I did a week long event a few years ago that Cracknell was also doing and I was very impressed by his levels of determination and focus and lack of 'look at me'; he came across well. I'm watching with interest as this was before his accident.

I am big Cracknell fan boy. His DVDs are worth a watch. Rowing the Atlantic, sking to the South Pole, then the one when he had the accident, plus the Yukon Arctic Ultra he did 6 months after it. His mindset is phenomenal. He can push himself till his body literally breaks down. The thing he was doing when had the accident he did 3 marathons through death valley with a broken foot. When his foot was too painful he got sticks and walked the fker.He is the reason I got in to endurance sports and the reason I don't weight 20 stone anymore

Good for you - get yourself over to the running thread [if it's running stuff]. The thing with Cracknell was the MdS, you could tell by the change in body shape he'd been taking training seriously and intended doing well rather than just tagging along - and he did do well.I thought I was going to hate Pete, but he seems like a decent chap and one of the few that has anything about him. He was a bit of a tt about hunting thing, I don't like it when vegans and pesceaterians (sp?) etc try and take a moral high-ground over someone else diet. You don't want to eat it fine, but the rest of us do.
The Eric thing was odd, I wonder if its all been edited together out of sequence. He went from being the biggest bell-end, to down about losing his ring, got counselled by Martin and them became a happy camper all within the space of seemingly a few hours / days.
The ones that will make it to the end are I think are Pete, Crackers, Anthony and possibly Martin. The Dr seems fairly grounded and calm though so she may be ok also.
As an aside anyone read Bear's autobiography? He's a nutter. I am only about a 1/3rd of the way through. He went to St Tropez, couldn't afford a hotel so climbed up a church tower and slept on the church roof. Disabling the automaitc ringer on the church bell as it kept waking him

Hollywood roberts has been the same from the first ep, he's so laid back that any aggression he causes in others bypasses him or simmers as he dozes.
that pete character, having him mouthing off about hunting is just the sort of thing that'd make me wanna leave like the girl, when you're at the bottom, you don't need a silly sod saying 'good' when you fail and fail and fail. Real life scenario he'd help hunt or he'd get smacked.
