Really? Both my TV & Sat mag and TV listings say it is a new series. Didn't watch it so...

Based on 40m drivers in the UK and 250 working days a year, that's 16000 tests a day. That doesn't include retests for those that fail or tests for new drivers that we have going thru daily now. . Care to enlighten us on the actual logistics of how you're going to make this work. After all, I'm sure you haven't just said "retest everyone every 10 years" without having some plan as to how it will work.

And what happens when you fail. Kids need picking up from school, people have to get to work, to do their jobs. One assumes you'll need to take someone with you to the test in case you fail and can't drive back unaccompanied?

But i'm sure you've thought this thru, so let's hear the plan.
Computerised test rather than practical? So questions on highway code (driving laws will change in a decade) and the Hazard Perception thing too. Maybe every 20 years would be easier. My health, reactions, eyesight etc will be a lot different at 40 than they were at 20.
Free practice ones are already available online if people are bothered to check their knowledge. Some answers are odd (and funny!):

...whilst others are inaccurate (traction!):

More odd answers:

I thought ABS was there to prevent lock-ups and skidding on loose surfaces?

Hmm... Let met think, there's a large STOP sign on the road...

Some might well think the top left is the reason rolleyes

Anyone watched tonight's episode, if so comments -

One guy indicated left on approach to a roundabout but he didn't see the road on his left just before the roundabout, instructor said he shouldn't indicate until he had passed that road, but there was a big LEFT arrow on the road he was on, so no need to indicate?

Other one was a guy approaching a bend in the road and I am sure in white letters on the road it said ARAF SLOW, any idea what that means?

Well, it could be the Muslim separator realm or borderland between heaven and hell, inhabited by the people who are evenly balanced in their sins and virtues.

Then again it might just be welsh for slow.

ETA: Cobblers, fingers a tad too araf it would seem!
