Best war film scene for you?
Discussion
Great thread.
You guys have collectively made me relive the last 60 years of my life, brought up on a diet of war films, supported by me starting work with guys who actually did this stuff.
Saturday night watching tv or going to the cinema was a ritual.
One guy I knew at work was casually asked what he did in the war ( a solicitor so fairly serious in outlook ) and he casually mentioned his job was to cycle round France in a beret and stick knives in Germans. He was in SOE. I doubt this was B.S. the way he said it, cos it brought the banter to a halt.
Thanks also for the mention of another of my faves ' went the day well', a visit to the film location in Bucks to check out the church yard is still on my bucket list.
Keep it coming chaps and thanks.
