Could be. Bill and Ted ever comes off in a fe years, it'd be up there too.
I think there was a thread that covered a similar question recently but can't be sure. Rocky is one of the longest ones.

That's true, the Rocky series/saga is ridiculous though, Sly playing the same character for 40+ years.

You could argue he plays him in every film hehe

Surely the Star Wars saga trounces them all for longest running?

T2 and T1 are quite different sorts of film. I like both equally. I’d almost go as far as saying I like T3. More for the premise, which I thought moved the story on well, than for the execution which was a bit st! The idea of Sarah Connor having lived long enough to see the date of Judgement day passing but that it’s inevitable, and mostly that Skynet would be software rather than a box somewhere made lots of sense to me. I didn’t mind the Bale film and would have liked to see more of the future war. Genisys was a genuinely terrible film. Not sure this looks like it’ll be good from the initial trailer but I’m interested
I thoroughly enjoyed Genisys , thought Salvation was a bit ste imo .

Interesting. Rambo V: "Vietnam War veteran John Rambo teams up with a reporter to save a kidnapped girl from a vicious drug cartel in Mexico."
I'm expecting plenty of shoot. biggrin

They're really trying to sell it - Cameron is in a video raving about this new sequel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxPeVTIanzs

Difficult to believe him as he did a similar video prior to the release of the last one, Terminator Genisys, and we all know how that turned out - he even stated in that video that he saw it as the third film in the franchise: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8Xx9agRgS4
Additional footage, which contains spoilers, of Cameron's interview which answers some of the questions posed by the first trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qY7fYr6cHdc

(I would imagine the spoilers will be revealed anyway in subsequent trailers).

Watch it while you can as the footage has been pulled from other YT channels - probably at the request of the studio.

I'm probably going to try and avoid further trailers, given the history of Terminator films having massive honking spoilers for plot points in their trailers.

I'm not going to see a film to be preached at, I just want the film to be good.
What gives you the slightest hint you'll get preached at?

The protagonist Terminator in The Sarah Connor Chronicles was female too, it wasn't any kind of feminism stick used to beat the audience with. And Shirley Manson's character was really great as well.
I really enjoyed the tv show and was sad when it was cancelled.

It’s fairly clear that this terminator film has three female lead characters, the tv show had a strong male supporting cast who were decent actors in their own right.

unless there is a narrative which requires three female leads in an action film made famous by strong male characters (as well as hamilton) i think ‘woke’ is justified as a label.

if more male leads emerge i will happily retract.
I really really liked The Sarah Connor Chronicles and was one of the best series going. It had so much more to give and was annoyed and slightly upset when it ended. I understand it's because of the upcoming film and didn't want to confuse or clash with it. To be honest it was way better. Shirley Manson was brilliant.

(Actually I might go and find a blu-ray copy of the series right now!)

As been pointed out by many people, if this is a day after she as bloody aged a lot in 24 hours.

I will say if there is a bloody kid in the new one it will ruin it.

In T3 the apocalypse happened not too long after the end of T2 storyline right?

So with Sarah Conner back for T6 and obviously a lot older and yet the apocalypse hasn't yet happened are we to simply ignore T3 now as if it never happened?

confused

Fairly meh at that.

Sarah says to the transgender person I've never seen one like you before, you look almost human. That'll get the woke brigade knickers in a twist.
What?! She's not transgender, a cyborg from the future? That's how I read it.

Apologies for dragging the old post up.

Mackenzie Davis isn't transgender, absolutely no idea where you've interpreted that from at all.

Her skin is funny looking, and what Sarah means is that she - as a robot - looks almost human.

Yes, ignore T3 through to Jennysis. This follows on from T2.

Comments from James Cameron

"The principle of our movie is that there’s an inevitable conflict between humans and the intelligent machines that they make. And all [Sarah Connor has] done is kick the can down the road from her future back in the 1980s to our future now in 2019. Judgment Day is right around the corner, yet again. It’s an inevitability. So she’s kicked the can, she’s going to have to try to kick it again and again. The war never ends. So Sarah has become a Terminator hunter. She’s not waiting to be hunted by a Terminator, she hunts them. She’s figured out a way to be there when they pop through time and she just blows their s–t away. Pretty much that simple. Hey, it’s gonna be an R-rated movie, so I can swear.”

I still hope it may be decent, but I fear the worse.

Just watched T1,T2 and Genesis. Each one has a different feel to them. T1 is a dark grimy sci-fi flick, T2 feels like a big Hollywood blockbuster, while Genesis is a family friendly film that has to much humour in it to be a proper Terminator film. That said I did enjoy it not as much as the first granted but it’s not a terrible movie as some people have made it out to be.

The Bale movie I liked a lot more the second time around, I like the direction it went in with the actual war between humans and sky net. It could have had potential as a series of films. T3 however was shocking, I hated it and wished it was never made.

The trailer for the new film doesn’t fill me with optimism but going by what some people have seen at comic con on Twitter, it seems this could be a return to form for the franchise. I’m excited for Linda Hamilton to be back and Edward Furlong is also returning.
