I have discovered some very good space related content. Apart from the obvious ones, like NASA and ESA, I enjoy watching "Vintage Space" from Amy Shira-Teitel and the "Curious Droid" channel.
Curious droid is very good, his content is very informative and well produced.

Great channel, just a shame you have to wait what feels like a year between updates.

Big Clive was only in Edinburgh for a month or so during the festival, rigging the Military Tattoo. He is from Glasgow but usually based in the Isle of Man. Nerdy, blokey, and such a soothing voice.

Tom Scott does loads of excellent short but interesting videos. Some techy, some not.

Tom also does another series with a group of lads who were at uni together. Imagine QI but with northern blokes and naughty words. Initially recorded as a radio podcast, but they added cameras and eventually went to a live recording with an audience.

I now watch YouTube more than broadcast tv. There is good stuff on there for every interest. Some stuff I'm watching.

MotorTrend - I really like Hot Rod Garage, Road Kill, House of Muscle, Dirt Every Day and Engine Masters. It's what Gas Monkey and all that rubbish should be.

Mighty Car Mods and MCMTV2 - These guys have had massive success, their earlier more amateur stuff is best, but still good to watch.

MrPete222 and Abom79 - I'm trying to learn to use a lathe and a mill properly, these two channels are fascinating if you have an interest in machining.

Ronnie Dahl and 4xOverland - Off-roading/Overlanding. These two channels live the life I would if I could. They've inspired me to drive to the Sahara next March!

I think everyone on here knows Petrolicious and Harry's Garage.

Eric the Car Guy is good for the DIY mechanic, although his big project car seems to have been a bit more than he could chew and it's all got a bit depressing recently.

He has the odd guest presenter like Johnny (whatever his second name is from 5th gear) and Cat from Red Dwarf helps him out with motorbike tests, complete with bright pink leathers!

Related to that I have another 2 vloggers but much more amateur(most of my subscriptions are amateur vloggers):
James Cooke https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCDKtaH6RMcn22L3_A...
James and Kate https://www.youtube.com/user/James0852
The second pair are quite charming, just a real couple getting on with life but with a passion for EV's.

Nobody has mentioned one of our own yet, or I missed it, MudNomad: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCm_0jM9DiztVHaSMv...

Just because nothing cheers up a dull Friday more than a cartoon cat I also have Simons Cat: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCH6vXjt-BA7QHl0Kn...

Strangely compelling, Dumpster Diving, Teardown Tuesday, Mailbag opening, geeky electronic bloggery, with an oh-so-very-annoying voice.

I hope not because this is a different thing innit. This is channels, not individual videos.

Some of my favourites maybe not already mentioned...

Car Throttle - https://www.youtube.com/user/CarThrottle/videos - diverse motoring channel
Techmoan - https://www.youtube.com/user/Techmoan/videos - tech reviews and old technology
Clickspring - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCworsKCR-Sx6R6-Bn... - building complex mechanisms in metal
Engineering Explained - https://www.youtube.com/user/EngineeringExplained/... - as subject

I quite like Tom Scott and his short but interesting videos about the world around us - either "Things you Didn't Know" or "Amazing Places" or interesting engineering project etc. 3-5 minute videos, so easy to watch

Some great stuff being posted here, I've already sub'd a few new channels of the back of this thread alone.

Anyone else follow Alec's Hunga Munga build and test? That looked like a whole lot of fun... been looking at forges and clearing out the garage ever since!

I watch YT more than normal TV; always something that appeals can be found in the former, critic's choice & BBC4 dominates the latter.

Retro gaming:

Game Sack https://www.youtube.com/user/MrGameSack

Gaming Historian https://www.youtube.com/user/mcfrosticles

Filims:

Oliver Harper https://www.youtube.com/user/ollyh82 Recommended if you grew up in the 80s and 90s - his USP are his retrospective reviews of films.

Channel Chriswell https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCL5kBJmBUVFLYBDiS...

Music:

Amoeba Records/What's In My Bag? https://www.youtube.com/user/amoeba/playlists music recommendations

Mass Appeal https://www.youtube.com/user/massappeal keeping up with contemporary hip hop culture. I really love Rhythm Roulette: blindfold pick of old records and make a beat/instrumental out of it.

A year ago I would've recommended Vice News as they used to do documentaries and dispatches - embedded with the Peshmerga forces were a highlight. Struggling to find similar hard hitting dispatch reports.
