If the Russkies drive their robot like they do their cars then we are in trouble.

Had that American team watched any of UK robot wars before they decided to enter? Cathard looks like a spinner from about 3 series ago...

I see Greenpeace guy's latest effort was just as ineffectual as his previous attempt ( the Kegs )

Disappointing specials. They would have been far better if they weren't so heavily stacked in the UK favour.

A number of the foreign robots were actually re-painted bots from last years 'celeb' special, which were built basically by the show's producers anyway, so it was hardly a genuine affair.

Diotoir was actually Kadeena Machina (Kadeena Cox)
Rabid M8 was actually Dee (Rizzle Kicks)
Cathadh was actually arena cleaner (Scott Mills)

Consequently, pretty much all of the fights involving these were pants. Poorly planned specials IMO and potentially may now damage the possibility of another series. Big let down after the great final from S10.

Terror Turtle took part in Robot Wars 7 in 2003 before coming back for the new runs. It hasn't been changed since then.

Hmmm. Diotor has been in robot wars for years so I hardly think its a 'plant'. Yes, they may have repainted it for a special but that's not to say the producers built it!

I'm sure with some digging you'd find the same point about Rabid M8 & Cathadh.

Was so one sided. Should have invited some of the battlebots over for a proper USA vs UK.

Are the RoW robots being re-invited for the next season? Might be interesting. I know there's some stigma about the Battlebots (RW doesn't allow sponsorship, whereas I think most Battlebots are sponsored - see F1 budgetary debate thread v.1,567) but let's see where things go.

Also, has this thread had a cull of some posts? I'm sure there was a page 3 before I posted.
