I'm two hours in. It's got some of the original film in it but a lot more however more doesn't necessarily mean better. It's slow going and as someone said above, it's going to be 3+ hours before Superman shows up.

4:3 ratio is crap.
It’s not a bad thing Superman showing up late though as with him the heroes aren’t in danger. Steppenwolf gets thrown about like a rag doll by him. There’s far more peril to the heroes when Superman isn’t around which makes for a better movie.

I thought the movie was great, and I actually loved the 4:3 ratio, way better than black bars top and bottom, although I just don’t get why 16:9 isn’t used. It would have been better full screen even if it was just extra scenery. Surely film must move in and realise at home viewing will dominate soon.

Major improvement in the first film and I actually like cyborgs story in this. Only disappointment was the joker, crap acting by leto, and constant love your Dad segments, quite cheesy!

That's always the problem in hero films with uber characters. Same in Marvel. Thor partly and then Captain Marvel. Have to keep them hidden until the rest are in peril

Used the 'zoom all direction' function on my TV as I hate 4:3 format. Picture was absolutely fine.

I absolutely loved the snyder cut and the 4 hours this morning just flew by, and didn't expect the ending at all, really enjoyed it!

Just finished it. Wouldn't say the 4hrs flew by but I certainly wasn't bored at any point like I was with the original cut. If I had to give it a grade I'd give it a B (the original cut a D).
Honestly I don't know how Whedon fked up the original so badly.

Just finished it, wow! Total redemption of the original. A few set pieces were a bit generic, some of the dialog could have worked better, but overall I thought it was brilliant. Toying with the multiverse and Injustice is the best thing the DC franchise can do.

DC at its best. 4:3 was fine IMO, worked well on the upwards panning shots.

I think the hinted at Injustice timeline is a safe source of good Superman stories. You can't just keep upping the stakes, because we know he always pulls through. But giving him a human dilemma and tragedy works well when he can be a hero and a villan.

I don't get all the whinging about 4:3, just sit closer to the telly if it's such a problem.

Hated the original release, watched this version in 2 chunks and really enjoyed it. Not amazing, but actually made me care a bit about cyborg, who didnt offer anything of interest before. Made a change from the teen titans go version I've been subjected to relentlessly through lockdown.

It could have been about 3/4 of an hour shorter without lessening the impact by having just one ending rather than half a dozen. It’s almost like they didn’t know when to stop filming and just kept adding scene after unnecessary scene one the film had ended, in rather the same way as the third Lord of the Rings film just kept going on and on after it had all finished.

But having said all that, aside from some very ropey CGI, I enjoyed it and liked it more than the original. The Flash is still an annoying twerp in both versions though.

Just started watching the original release because it's on. It's even worse now when you can compare.

I liked it but the WW theme playing within every millisecond of her screentime became jarring and comical towards the end.

yup that was something I really hated about her movies as well, it's so intrusive, it's like they were desperate to make her feel badass despite her being a badass on screen.

lol I genuinely had to google pitch meetings.

It doesn't take a genius to see the WW theme was being overused.

4 hours and more money, and i felt it really didnt bring DC universe anything more than it did before - sorry - buy IMHO , Ben's seemed to sleepwalk that and had no real edge to him or style and the batsuit looked st... batman seemed to struggle to standout for me in this movie..... WW looks stupid in her get up for 2020 and her theme tune was awful (and i'm really not a fan of her own movies either) , they really should have thought about changing her style, the Mother boxes seemed weak plot point considering they said at the end they would just use their massive armada to conquer instead, and the "dark side" baddies had no depth or reason other than the "we must conqueror and destroy" - Flash was just annoying, REALLY annoying....
The best bits were getting Cyborg backstory, and as in the "original" anyway, Superman - who Cavil i think utterly nails it, and the Hans Zimmer score for him is awesome. i was just wanting to see more of Superman.....

most of the CGi had the soft yellow feel to it, like the Hobbit and was well over used............

it all felt like a poor mans Marvel, but 3 origin movies too short ....
