The mighty Apollo 13.

Go listed to the actual burn on Youtube rather than the dramatised version in the film. Chalk and cheese.

"10% throttle, 40% throttle, shutdown". Calm as you like.

That could be Apollo 13 too, but it isn't. Perhaps the Right Stuff? We're talking inertial guidance systems here I think.

Despite my adoration of Apollo 13, I'm going with "If you want a friend, get a dog." Gordon Gekko in Wall Street.

Ah, great film. No idea how you could do what he's claiming though.

You can do it with inertial guidance though :-)

The next line is "If the map is accurate enough" (I think!)

The navigator is using highly detailed maps of underwater canyons, a stop watch and some pretty nifty speed/time/distance calculations to plot turning points. No reason the same principle couldn't be applied to flying through the Alps I suppose.

That film is full of great lines

"Ryan, be careful what you shoot at, most things in here don't react too well to bullets.."

Event Horizon - Not really a horror fan thought it was about space ships and stuff, scared the crap out of me.

Correction:

Ohh, it's a deep burn! Oh, it's so deep! Oh, I can barely lift my right arm 'cause I did so many. I don't know if you heard me counting, I did over a thousand.

You have your ubulus muscle, that connects to the upper dorsinus. lt's boring, but it's part of my life.
