There's just so much nonsense in this show that it's hard to know where to start. But hey, it's good escapism for a Sunday evening. I just wish it was a bit faster moving. So many episodes have been painfully turgid.
Same for me and it has been painfully slow, but I have enjoyed the escapism none the less. I've got really into this series.. shame last night's episode was the last.
Did anyone else feel that the last episode was a bit rushed? Not as much detail as previous episodes have been, nonetheless still good.. just a little confusing at times.. or is that just me?
Hopefully there will be a second series!

Thought Alex's character development was poorly rushed.
Episode 1-7 showed someone still new to the game but still WAY out of his depth to then learning the entire hustle; becoming a killer and overstepping a Mexican drug cartel lieutenant all within a number of days all while in a foreign country?

Much better ending idea:
To the music of the piano bit from Layla, a la GoodFellas, where we see individual scenes of each of Alex’s family in London all being found dead. Alex then gets a message about it whilst still Moscow and breaks down in tears realising it was all for nothing, while Eddie Jordan laughs as he now has the empire....

If you take the example of Breaking Bad, or Better Call Saul, the better shows are given the luxury of doing this over a few seasons, impossible to do in 8 episodes.Mojooo said:
The reason the program didn't feel right ...
Agree with that. Also for me, Alex's girlfriend seemed wrongly cast and so bugged me, she seemed a bit old for him and not 'model looks' enough for a pretty City boy.Edited by hyphen on Monday 12th February 23:01
I can't decide whether Norton is a good actor (coming over all concerned and emotional for most of this before showing his leaden hardman image) or it's pretentious nonsense. Or both.
Agreed that Vadim was the star - quality choice.
All set up for Season Two where someone will pop up leading the new Chinese challenge to his comfy arrangement (or the dreaded Isle of Wight mafia grab the import business through Cowes and Shanklin. Again.)
