Thought Alex's character development was poorly rushed.
If you take the example of Breaking Bad, or Better Call Saul, the better shows are given the luxury of doing this over a few seasons, impossible to do in 8 episodes.Mojooo said:
The reason the program didn't feel right ...
Agree with that. Also for me, Alex's girlfriend seemed wrongly cast and so bugged me, she seemed a bit old for him and not 'model looks' enough for a pretty City boy.Edited by hyphen on Monday 12th February 23:01

Thought the series was pretty good.
Not sure he’s up to being Bond he looks the part but it’s a big step from doing TV series to something as massive as 007.
Had a bit of a Bond vibe when he started running through the tunnel, but it really is massive step up from a small TV series to a international film franchise, which arguably requires the coolest of the cool. Not sure he’s up to being Bond he looks the part but it’s a big step from doing TV series to something as massive as 007.
The only way he could do it would be if they changed the whole vibe to be more in line with his quiet, nerdy style, rather than him trying to be a bad ass Daniel Craig type!
And yeah, agreed with the poster above who said his girlfriend was badly placed. She was just annoying more than anything else!

Bonds tend to sophisticated or rugged. He came across as neither in this so wouldn't expect him to get it. The only way he could do it would be if they changed the whole vibe to be more in line with his quiet, nerdy style, rather than him trying to be a bad ass Daniel Craig type!

But then haven't seen him in anything else so don't know if this character was not the best advert.

Crappest hitman ever on Vadim... screeched to a halt about 100 yards away for some reason, randomly waiving something like a MAC 10 out the window which would be rubbish at that distance and then didn't even follow him.
Both Boris and Papa were a bit useless and seemed to go pretty bargain basement on their hitmenEdited by Juicetin1 on Thursday 15th February 13:35
Since we'd invested time in watching it so far, my wife & I caught up with the finale yesterday.
Alex grew some big ones in between the penumltimate and the last episode's timing, didn't he?!
Hitmen: were ste, despite being state sponsored (at least that was my take on it)
Alex: can't believe he pulled the triger on Vadim
Alex: also laughed at how he managed to get the slimy Mexican guy kicked out of the meeting in Moscow, then snubbed his handshake at the end
("Yeah - I know you were sniffing around my bird!" )
Now, how did Alex get his phone back from the authorities?
And, how will he leave Russia without his Passport, that was also confiscated, and that wasn't stamped at the airport on entry?
(I know how sty Russian authorities can be about entry/exit checks)

I thought there was a conversation about the driver taking him through Ukraine by road and getting out that way, before he decided not to leave? In any case they've already shown a few good ideas for how to get stuff across remote borders so probably won't be a problem.Gassing Station | TV, Film, Video Streaming & Radio | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
