She's not even that nice, big plastic tits no doubt.
He's got a bit of humour and fun in him, I don't know how good he is on his subject. FF just annoys me from glimpses I've seen as I turn off any reality tv garbage.
Chris H will be ok in his segments as we know , we'll just have to see how it pans out.

I think they should just kill off TG; there’s more than enough stuff on YouTube, Netflix, etc. for petrol heads so it serves no purpose.

If the BBC wants a ‘middle aged banter’ show I’d promote “Flintoff Savage and the PingPong Guy” from podcast to TV instead. It’s excellent to listen to and the three of them have real chemistry. Flintoff is ‘Clarkson’ (the leader), Savage is Hammond (butt of the jokes) and Syed is May (the brainy one).

I'm actually quite surprised this didn't happen. The addition of Joe Sugg to strictly is a good example of this type of 'personality' / celebrity becoming mainstream.

And you know what... i'd love to see Sam from Seen Through Glaaaaaaarrrrsssee have a try. I actually really like his style and personality (On screen). Maybe him and Rory on the BBC 3 show would be an interesting test. Leave Tony from Gravelwood behind though.

Shmee is way too dry (although I like his style, its made for Youtube only, or maybe old old old Willard style Top Gear)
Mr JWW a bit too slick
Paul Wallace (SoL) not credible enough.

I bet Archie Hamilton would work to some degree with his racing history and idiotic banter.
I think May Watson (from carwow) would be good. He does informative, but light-hearted reviews and he's natural in front of the camera.

I was really hoping than button would have some involvement. He has a cheeky fun sense of humour, and just imagine the racing antics he could get up to with Harris!

Perhaps. But having Button would mean that Harris was no longer "the one who can drive", thus rendering him, and also The Stig, rather superfluous.

Now the only thing the Fifth Gear producers need to do is work out how to make a good tv show.
It's latest iteration was indeed pretty dire.

But Top Gear was the only car related show I ever watch (including F1), couldn’t really give a toss about car reviews and thought the last series really wasn’t bad at all. MLB is going and Rory has been sidelined (why?) to be replaced by two Northerners most people can’t stand or understand why they will be there.

How about Vicki McClure (good on SIARPC last year) and Philip Glennister?

Suspect BBC could have made a better fist of TG if instead of Freddie and one of Peter Kay's thick school mates they'd have set on Nessa and Dave Coaches from Gavin and Stacey, with occasional appearances by Delia Smith giving cookery demos to the audience alternating with Larry Lamb on cycling and veganism. FFS!

On the other hand will wait and see, give it a shot starting from a point of very low expectations. Feel sorry for Chris Harris frankly.

They need to move from Dunsfold at some point, so maybe a complete refresh
They've already given back the studio there.

I give it a year until Clarkson, May, and Hammond are back on Top Gear. The TG production are just filling until the BBC realise they need to do something drastic.

However, to be clear, i do not condone Clarkson and the events that transpired to get him fired. That's unforgivable, no one should have to go to work and be at threat of violence. Clarkson i note has since apologised.
Nah, I think after the 3rd season of GT they’ll be done. Do a few bits on their own and that’ll be that. I can’t see them continuing with the amount of work it currently takes.

BBC would have done better to just say TG is finished for now until such time it is reinvented again in a few years.

I think Paul Hollywood always wanted the gig. I wonder if he is regretting jumping ship to Channel 4?

If they had done that, then everyone would be saying that Clarkson was bigger than Top Gear, and bigger than the BBC. The BBC wouldn't have tolerated that kind of loss of face, which is why they had to "prove" that Top Gear was bigger than Clarkson.

I'm not entirely sure they have succeeded, but post-Clarkson TG hasn't been a total disaster. And TGT hasn't been a total success either.

BBC clearly going for "chemistry" again so its doomed to fail. Top Gear with Clarkson, Hammond and May is dead its gone and so has that show just move on and try to make something new and interesting not just a poor homage.
I think there are plenty of people still alive that actually don't mind watching and learning more about the technical aspect and development of cars and if they don't hurry up they will all soon be banned anyway

I would have preferred to see Henry Catchpole and someone like Steve Coogan or Rowan Atkinson join Harris, but I'll try and keep an open mind.

Peter Kay and Paddy McGuiness might have been better smile

But isn't that the BBC way? Didn't things like Last of the Summer wine roll on year after year after year even though the original stars had long since departed? Hadn't all the gags been done, all the bath tubs sent down rolling Yorkshire hills etc? But still the BBC thought they could just squeeze another series or a bit more out of the old dog, even though it needed putting down.

Where's all the original factual and entertaining broadcasting these days? Oh yes, YouTube.

Top Gear has been a BBC brand for 40+ years. You can't expect them to bin it because it is no longer presented by CHM. They also don't have to fk it up with these 2 tts.

It's not because the CHM era presentation has gone, it's the fact that they still persist in trying to keep a blokey bantering mix and style going when it was unique to the characters of C, H and M. I don't suppose anyone thought that the three of them would turn a car show into a juggernaut of family viewing, but they gelled and matured (sorry immatured) to create TV moments for the time they were on it.

CHM's (+ Andy Wilman and Richard Porter) version of Top Gear was a pinnacle in the style that they created and it now needs a complete overhaul and radical restructuring, like CHM did over previous incarnations. Be bold with our licence money BBC and calve out something for the 21st century using completely new ideas, direction and presenters.
