I've got tickets for next Tuesday, it's a flippin long drive for me but I've always wanted to go.

I was wanting to take my 16yo son, but noticed you have to be 18, so I'm going with the gf (call it a Valentine's gift) wink
Wear your comfiest shoes.

I'm down there also ( 300m drive each way !) but as above just got to tick it off the list .

How long are you generally there ? 12pm till ...

Is the car park pretty secure and plenty space ? Haven't decided what to take yet .

Thanks

Plenty of space in the car park. Secure? It's a stretch of abandoned runway on the other side of the airfield from the studio You have to drive past a security booth to enter the Dunsfold site. You get bussed from the car park to the studio. There is a burger stand and posh portaloos at the car park. How long are you "generally" there? I wouldn't know, as I've only been the once. When we went, we were back at the car shortly after 5. For someone who leads a desk-bound existence, it's a bloody long time to be standing up - feet and back were killing me by the end of it. Expect to do a lot of clapping. Make sure you're well hydrated (no refreshments in the studio), but not too well (no toilets in the studio; you'd have to ask to be let out during a break in filming to use the portaloos outside).

I took my 17 year old son in April 2017, however, at the time he was already 6'1" tall and no questions were asked.

As someone else said, wear some very comfortable shoes as you will be standing around for a very long time.

I enjoyed it but the novelty soon wore off standing in the front. I wriggled to the back and sat down. It’s proper tiring and a long day standing.

Not a chance.
I went once before when it was CHM and it was just better somehow. Seemed to be more entertaining all round from a live audience point of view and it was far more relaxed with decent (free) catering and facilities, plus a bit of meet & greet with Foggy, Compo and Clegg.
TG 2.0 last week was a far more sterile affair with rigid rules about no liquids in the studio, no coming and going to the toilets, zero catering (not even water) and MLB and chums kept at arm's length, and we were even reminded there were "Security" staff in the studio if anyone didn't play ball. I also got tired of being told not to take photos. Last time it was positively encouraged in between takes.

Sounds bloody miserable. Standing there for 5+ hours with no toilets or refreshments and having to cheer and clap for chemistry and personality vacuums such as Rory Reid and Chris Harris. No thanks - they'd have to pay me a lot of money to be there.

Yep, I know it's licence-fee payers' cash etc, but to not have a break and a cup of tea during the whole afternoon was a bit grim. The weather was phenomenally st the day we went, which didn't help the ambience.

I went two years ago during the fabled Evans-era.

I was interested in how a TV show was put together, but I won't be rushing back to watch the show.

As much as I enjoy Top Gear and The Grand Tour, I don't really see the need for the audience segments in either any longer.

Another teaser that cleverly fits into the last teaser. GT2RS! St Bernard in a GTR laugh

Coming off the back of the last episode of S02 Grand Tour. The BBCs effort simply cant be that bad can it?

yes

And they've resorted to baseline click-bait taglines.

The BBC said:
1. Chris, Rory and Matt are gelling as a presenting team.
If you say so! rofl

I'm more inclined to believe the PH commentators who have been in the audience who told us Rory is on the sidelines.

Gave up watching the whole thing two episodes into the last series. I might FFWD to the MLB bits this series as he's about the only half-engaging thing left on the show.
