Cracknell and Aled don't have to prove anything to anyone, which I think is an advantage.
To play the other side of that coin….. they are also proven achievers so don’t ‘need’ to prove anything. They just ‘can’t’ come second. It’s why they achieve?
They're sportsmen. No-one wins all the time.
Which is the total opposite of the mindset elite athletes have.

Why do we not hear a word from James Cracknell?
Maybe because he's just getting on with it and not complaining. They're just giving all the others their 5 minutes to cry on camera first before they quit.
I’m sure it is just down to the edit.

Each seem to get their episode of focus. Angry footballers being the last episode.

If he one of the strong ones, he’ll suddenly feature and rid his demons in a later episode.

I don’t really see the red man task as being much of a test. You’re pretty psycho if you can’t just stop when told on that exercise. Going for it for a few mins would be quite enjoyable. They want you to ‘kill’ red man, but also comment about losing control if you went ‘too far’.

Yeah, its editing and also they are bringing people in to view when they start to struggle. I think earlier seasons focussed more on who are the strong ones from the start, whereas now its wait and see who crumbles then give them a poke and see if they spill their guts.

For Crackers I think if he's going fail (and his absolute bloody mindedness wont let him give up, so he might get pulled) will be during the interrogation. After his TBI he had quite a personality change and he might start to get frustrated during that.

Cracknell is the only one I'm really interested in so it's frustrating that they are giving him zero air time. It would be interesting to hear his interactions with his fellow contestants at least, but so far, nothing!

No room for pragmatism then?

I guess you didn't see the interview with the boxer in the Olympics then.

Finally some Crackers content. Even Billy is fking impressed by him.

I love Cracknell. He inspired me to sort my st out years ago. I was fat, unfit, blood pressure that has killed people, a bag of st. Watched one of his shows where he was doing one of his endurance challenges. I watched that and thought, I want to do something like that. Signed up for a half ironman. Lost 30kg. Changed my life. Everytime I slip back into bad habits I watch him again to reignite that passion to push yourself beyond.

Yep, enjoyed last night's episode. Cracknell is undoubtedly going to make it to the end now. I think all the DS were impressed with him, Ant commented to Foxy on his leadership and how he just gets on with it.

I said to my wife that if he'd chosen to take the path the DS took, he'd be sat where they are - and I think the DS think the same.

Love this mate and huge respect to you for changing your ways. Just given me a kick up the arse as felt I have been slipping lately.

Cracknell is the only one I've seen on this programme who is at least as good as the SAS lads at the Thousand Yard Stare.

Gah. Gutted for James, although I predicted that would happen. Can't imagine his brain injury made that easy.

Yes a real shame. The DS would have accepted him with open arms otherwise.

I was really pleased for Aled, he deserved it.

Didn't understand that interrogation thing last year and still don't this year.
That spinoff prog with Foxy and some D-list celeb is a bit lame.

Hardly D List but yes, the show is pretty lame, thankfully only the two!

New lead DS looks like Ant during a metrosexual phase.

Might give it a go. Was getting bored of it . Ant had become a total pastiche of himself.

Still think they should put Billy in charge. He's the boss.

Based in the Jordanian desert. One thing's for sure, it will be a lot warmer and drier than the Isle of Raasay.

'Fruity' Rudy Reyes, was USMC Force Recon in Gulf War 2 and can be read about in Generation Kill book. Meant to be the best hand to hand combat guy in Recon at the time
