Watching it now.
that boxer's a unit, he needs an opponent in the spring if anyone is up for it.

On his fb page he says he's on meds for an inherited ailment

OK, watched it all now, he was caught out on the PEDs, extremely naive/moronic to think they would not be discovered and his excuses for not revealing them lame. Then classic countermeasures to one compatriot bring steds into the fore, yet leaving out the crucial info of the contraband PEDs, then more backpeddling on how SAS are compact men, not PED induced monsters like himself.
He took apart that 19 year old lad though.
A unit maybe but if I looked like that after peds I’d want a full refund.that boxer's a unit, he needs an opponent in the spring if anyone is up for it.

Rooting for Amuz - seems like he's been through a lot recently. Hope he makes it.
Too frail and skinny. Right attitude, he's just not the human packhorse They sometimes need to be.Halb said:

Seemed a bit harsh & unnecessary IMO
INdeed, as a 30 (profesional no less with a decade of experience) year old up against a 19 year old, with a (can't recall) 4 stone weight advantage? Personally, I would have let the stringy kid build up some confidence, rather than tt him down in two blowsV8mate said:

and the heart of the show, along with Moses
He's been singled out, but I don't think he's a favourite - he's a drug dealing, robbing and I hope they royally fk him over.Episode 1 was clearly getting the first set of sob stories out of the way

I love Foxy
He is a legend, I met him earlier this year at an event and he was a) an absolute unit and b) a really decent chatty guy.Tough one for the boxer - ignoring the meds incident which was daft - going for it is what they told them to do- dont defend, dont back down, just go for head shots.
Its one of the small complaints i have about the show - unpredictability dressed up as a strength-of-character analysis. Some get chopped because they dont have the metal, while others get chopped because they have too much. They are looking for a roguish-misfit, with controlled aggression, someone who doesnt fit the mould, and to find it they start with a boxing match where you are told not to back down. In a “military setting” (you know what i mean) where you must obey your chain of command.
Or maybe roguish means disobeying orders. But then you would only disboey because you didnt want to hurt your opponent, which would make you compassionate and not roguish.
Who the hell knows

WTF is a "unit"?
M
I think it's one of those terms that gets adopted to convey a certain meaning well away from and completely irrelevant to its actual meaning, in such a way that if you ask, you immediately lose face for not knowing.M
It's a way of expressing an opinion without really expressing an opinion, then just sitting back and seeing who gets it.
Either that, or a fancy name for a kitchen cupboard.

No issue with the boxer going full pelt in the fight. If that is your strengh then you use it. Could he have picked a more "suitable" candidate for a challenge though, thats what I would have done knowing I still had more than a sporting chance but would I have held back, no chance.

fair enough I guess but on looks I would have said the twins looks a little more of a challenge. That saying the boxer looked full of anger.Anyone read in the papers today I think it was, one of the candidates lost his wife in a home envasion murder whilst on the phone to her 2 years ago, fair play for putting yourself through something this brutal after a tradegy like that

I agree, I think the bigger twin (bu they'd already gone) or the big black guy would have given a better account...or better yet, get the four SAS guys to take him on elimination style. Halb said:

Wasn't it biggest by height though? He was tall but was much leaner. There were more hench people there. I think they said the boxer had 4 stone over him? Maybe I have that wrong, if so that's massive difference.
Yeah I agree, as soon as he was picked I though, 'oh dear', but then the show said next biggest, but I guess that meant tallest. 19 years old too, whomever got the boxer was gonna pull the short straw, even some of the clear units in the group. So just caught up on the first episode with the boxer.
The thing that made me feel a bit uneasy early on in the episode was that he willingly and quite easily volunteered to go next at the boxing pretty early on, knowing full well what the outcome would be. He then said, when in that situation his eyes glaze over and he wants to kill the guy. Wasn't quite sure how to take it really, and couldn't make up my mind whether on that occasion he should have been a bit more retiring.
