Last nights episode was the first I've seen. Don't know how i missed it previously, but it's a shame as it was a great programme. Worth watching the whole thing just for the moment when the bloke who walked back to base was summoned:

"Choose your words carefully or you're going to look like a right "

Triggering the only bleep i heard in the programme (leaving no doubt what he'd said in the process). Magic laugh

Indeed, any hope he thought he had of getting away with it vanished there and then! Watching him navigating across the town using a compass just after they did the voice over bit about staying together, you knew he was in trouble.

I thought it was a trifle contrived though. Can you imagine the health and safety nightmare the programme would have faced if he really was lost? The staff knew all along where he was.

It reminded me a little of Hunted.... with the camera crew following him! It was for me the only disappointing bit. It would have been better if we just did not see him with the staff initiating some lost person protocol!

Of course, especially when he first got to the town with the guys stood by the wall. The staff must have known where he was as they looked to be keeping up the rear on previous shots, getting the slower ones to go quicker.

What happened to the "sticking together as a team bit" ? Some guy leaves his hat and the whole team gets beasted. They leave another team member behind and no consequences for the team.......

Good point.

Why the bloke didn't show a little (belated) decency & hand his number in is beyond me, he came out of that really badly.

It wasn't a team exercise. In another scene on that exercise, one of the candidates was yelled at for helping someone else.

He may regret it, but he simply wouldn't have lasted the course.

I don't think people ever recover from persistent childhood bullying. No matter how well they create a outward face as an adult, their learnt behaviour will always let them down. It's a human tragedy.
at the risk of sounding like an 'internet person' - I think it's important to point out to people that are reading this, persistent bullying can be overcome. Although as a person that managed a good few years of fairly serious stuff (one of the perps ended up in prison for Murder, and then out and now back again for something else)

It does definitely have a permanent affect on a person.......and there have been times and experiences and dark places since it all happened.

However - it didn't hold me back from what people would now consider a successful career and good life.

It's evil though at the time.

Wonder what happens next episode, as Ant totally lost it with some guy on the coming next time piece at the end (I try and avoid these). He stood up and slammed his hands on the table and shouted at him, and you could tell he was seriously pissed off. Can't wait to see what that was about.

I think they were looking at something on a screen, possibly an application or something along those lines, then one of the contestants said it was a lie. Don't know if it was related to that piece as edits like that can have a habit of misleading you on how things are going to go.

It looked like they had his CV on a laptop, so my guess is he's lied on it and they've found him out. . . .

To spurn a reaction like you see in the clip, my guess is he's claimed to be some war hero!

Yep... unless its on the interrogation phase, in which case it is encouraged.

Again - the mountain climb. I agree with the poster above- the previous message was that they are a team and stick together but someone got beasted for trying to do just that.

I like the show but they are quite inconsistent now. And I dont know if it was my imagination, I watched series 1 & 2, but this time they just seem more off with the recruits. Alot more swearing a lot more aggression. I know the format etc but in places it was uncomfortable to watch
