Why?

Why would you take a perfectly lovely Landrover and fk it up like that?

Seriously: Why?

I watch all motoring programmes and last night's goblin works was the first time I have ever seen a car thing on the menu and thought I just cannot watch another episode. It's that bad. I watched house history instead. The buthering of cars is reminiscent of Lepu and Bernie, in fact the Capri actually looks worse from what I have seen.

Yet, from their FaceBook page, you'd think it was the best motoring show ever produced.

It is one of the less offensive shows due to the general lack of fake jeopardy. We have only 5 minutes to build this car before the owner finds out!

It was sickening what they gig to that poor Landy. It was beautiful before they started.

^^^^This.

Look original landrover.....with mass appeal (and a fiar amount of value).

Spend time and money turning it into an eyesore.

And the overuse of hipster jargon, FFS. Not authentic, organic or cool.

Watched the final 20 minutes of the Land Rover episode yesterday, while waiting for something else, and amazed at the blatant lies they're able to tell. I know it's TV but don't these supposed builders have any integrity at all, or does it simply not matter?

They've clearly been very busy on social media and pretty much every negative comment has been removed. Their FaceBook feed is totally at odds with pretty much any other reviews I've seen on forum like PH. I notice lots of the positive comments are made by people with no ''friends'' and very little online presence. Almost as if they were fake profile to manipulate comment sections?

It did seem a dreadful waste of a Land Rover in superb condition with a galvanised chassis and probably a new bulkhead. They completely glossed over the steering system, which must have been completely different too (the standard arrangement was completely removed with the front axle). Basically it was a complete bodge up, even the bloke who apparently bought it didn't look very enthusiastic.

I did enjoy that idiot American bloke ruining a perfectly good ZX10R then blaming the wiring (probably a shoddy rewiring job) when it didn't work. It said it all that he felt how it looked was more important than whether it actually worked.

I'll pop up again and say I rather like it. I've series linked both Goblin Works Garage, and Savage Hunters Classic Cars, and while I prefer the cars and what they do to them in Salvage Hunters, I prefer the cast in Goblin Works Garage.

I'm not sure what "Ant" brings to the bike customizations. Somebody else made the drawing, a different somebody else made the parts, and Ant bolted the bits together (and let the smoke out).

And the result in no way evoked the spirit of AMA Superbike racing c.1980

Why not use a Kawasaki ZRX 1200 R? It's is a modern (or fairly recent bike) designed to look like a late 70's early 80's Superbike, and far more authentic than the ridiculous lash up they used in the show.

I'm sure you're right. I just hate people that take credit for other peoples work. Even if said work isn't all that great. Add the constant 'unique' and 'our design' remarks and the whole thing just grates on me.

Glad I'm not alone thinking this show is poor, way to hipster, token yank so they can sell the show in the us. All the bike work is farmed out to people who actually know what they are doing, token girl and that poor landy....... 26K ?????????????

Think the "token Yank" is actually Canadian because he says "oat" rather than "out". But yeah, miss-directed racial stereotyping is genuinely the least of this show's problems. The fact he can balls up a brand new zero-miles bike to the point where it burns out the wiring loom just switching on the key might be a bigger problem.

errrr... so tell me again why or how you managed to bypass all the fuses then, fella?

It's his car. He can do what he wants to it.

However, why make a TV programme about his lack of taste?

I won't watch another Goblin.
