Please god no!!!!!! if only to save another decent car from the clutches of those deluded hipster morons - as a collective - individually JDV is entertaining and no doubting the yank /canadian (?) has talent but together with the daft bint into the mix without doubt the worst "motor" show ever experienced....

On the brightside new episode of Car SOS on this eve - near to auto TV nirvana if only they'd turn down the clown in shaw.....

There must be a lot of disclaimers at the end of every show laugh

This is back in a week or two.
I'll have to watch just to see how bad it still is.
The female appears to have spent the time between filming for more tattoos.

They have done an E30 BMW and attempted to make it look like a pair of wheeled wardrobes. In fact, it wasn't the 3 melts that present it but I imagine they'll claim it as their own.

dear god who commissions this rubbish?

it is truly, by a long shot, the worst car related programme on television.

In all fairness, the Yanks must like it.

10 minutes in and its cringingly bad. Bought a Mini rust bucket for £2500 and spent £7500 on a new bodyshell.

Graphics showing the plan to follow even had the engine in the wrong orientation.

Can it get any worse.

Yes it can.

For the money they are spending, they could have built something really nice. I quite like the bikes they do though.

Edit: and then they paint bits of the bike pink laugh

I'm a bit late commenting on this woeful show hosted by 3 daytime TV plebs that maybe should be presenting a craft/decor show especially if you like wearing brand new fawn dungerees nice!. You couldn't pick 3 worse people to present a car show unless you are top gear.

Erm, are you one of those people who watches Top Gear every week and complains about it every week too? Jimmy DeVille is not a daytime TV pleb, look him up, he's pretty handy and knows his st! Ant Partridge is a pretty serious bike builder and new to TV. I know nothing about the lass.

To me it was an hour of mindless TV which is what I imagine it's all about. If you take things too seriously it's not for you. If you're a purist who wants to see a nut and bolt resto to concourse standard it's not for you.

I quite liked the pink bits on the bike but i'm odd like that. They over golded the Mini though, the stripe on the front end was a step too far and the fully anodised grille was a bit much and needed to be more subtle. Other than that though it all looked very well finished and a quality job!

And are you one of those people that lap up any old crap on TV and love it, no matter how bad it is? It's the very worst of modern reality TV.

Yet, with regard to the cars anyway, they don't actually do any of the builds they take credit for. They're trying to be the UK's 'Fast & Loud' and failing miserably. The Facebook comments are funny though and when I questioned why they were taking credit for other peoples work they banned me.

I actually watch very little TV and spend more time watching car related stuff on YT (Mighty Car Mods, HubNut, Binky etc). You've got to accept when watching stuff on TV these days that everything is made to try and appeal to a wider audience and so it's dumbed down considerably. I'd have much preferred to watch more of the actual detailed process of building the bike and the Mini but you just don't get that on TV anymore and you have to head to YT for that kind of content.

For a TV programme it was still better than the majority of the ste shown these days, I only really watched it as Quest is my go to channel when I turn to the TV and it's what was on. I genuinely didn't think it was that bad but I'm big into modifying and faffing with cars and was just intrigued throughout to see the end result.

Also, is this really considered reality TV?

Do we know who actually does the work? The Mini looked a simple case of just bolting together loads of bits they'd bought...

The Mini body was a bit steep at £7k, especially with the state of the seams. They had some nice bits on there though - the engine and brakes in particular. If only they wouldn't go quite so far with the other bits like the grille an stripes. The final price was laughable too. There looked to be a lot nicer cars on the London to Brighton that would have cost less than half that. Probably still watch next weeks though laugh

As I said about the Capri last series. Why start running and MOTed example of a desirable model? They’d have made more money if they’d restored it back to standard.
If they’re all about wild mods and fresh groundbreaking ideas why not start with a vin plate and V5 from any scrap car beyond saving?

Also, if they’re so ahead of the curve with new ideas why a basic 5 port a series? No 8 port or 16v head conversion, No Vtec/Vauxhall’s redtop swap? All that extra room in the clubman front seems a bit wasted and as if someone in a production office somewhere googled fast mini and found Nick Swift.

Wonder who built it?

Edit: he was talking out his arse about the original engine too ‘75 car with an A+ engine. They didn’t arrive until ‘80.

Just watched this for the first time..

It was OK and I will probably set a series link.
It's of general interest to a petrol head.

It would probably benefit from showing more of the actual work involved and being done rather than just glossing over it.

Lose the arty, industrial location shots. Its not Fast n Loud.

There were a few bloopers like the reference to the A+ engine etc.

But who in their right mind pays £39k for a Mini??

If it were an early original with a concourse restoration, maybe., but this was more or less a collection of off the shelf parts.

RWT the Harley, why weld bits on the tank?
It took time and money and achieved nothing of value.

I really don't see how he spent £10k on it.

I think that they are playing Fast and Lose with the numbers to suit their needs.

I stumbled across this show last night. It's 'Hipsters Do Wheeler Dealers', right?

Although they did a nice job on it the final price on that Mini was laughable. Was the 'buyer' real or just a stooge lobbed in by the producers to make it appear so?

At least the blonde girl is easier on the eye than Brewer, I suppose!
