DC Universe - Black Lightning
Discussion
Presumably the "black" in his name refers to his skin colour? Or is it just coincidence?
Can you imagine the ststorm from SJWs if there was a superhero called "White Lightning"*, specifically referring to him being a white person, living in a white neighbourhood solving "white" crimes*?
I will, however, forgive it if he uses Wesley Snipes line at some point: "Always bet on black"
'* - Possibly will need licence from the quality cider manufacturer

I present to you... White lightning
I wonder if the 'white' part has any significance to anything lol
Reviews I've seen are mediocre. Probably one I'll get around to watching some time, but not feeling the urge.
With regards to the 'black' bit in the name, I had a mini rant yesterday on social media. There was a picture of 6 or 8 black skinned superheroes, and the comment/question was 'who is your favourite black superhero?'.
I don't care about skin colour or such crap, people are people. I do have a problem with the fact that if the question had been 'who is your favourite white superhero' there would have been countless posts about how it's racist.
Anyway...fk Black Lightning, bring on Black Panther.

Got to agree with looking forward to Black panther. With regards to the 'black' bit in the name, I had a mini rant yesterday on social media. There was a picture of 6 or 8 black skinned superheroes, and the comment/question was 'who is your favourite black superhero?'.

As regards with colour. I don't give a crap. I find the media push this a lot, black this white this.
Black panther I would guess is his chosen colour of attire. Not skin colour.
Should the question not be who is the favorite superhero. Same with people going on about wonder woman etc... sexist etc..
Not having ago at the poster above or anyone. just viewing what I see and hear.
I feel the more the media pushes colour the more it annoys people. We are all the same. no matter our colour our skin.
The less people talk about colour and just that man/woman the better
Hope that makes sense

I agree that the question should be 'who is your fave superhero?' rather than 'who is your fave black superhero?'. That was the point I was making. Why does skin colour/sex have to be made such a big deal?
We are agreeing.

The reason the media pointing out about sex/colour is to show people it's a issue. when it should not be, the media is evil and annoy the hell out of me.
Also 2 episodes in.
I'm enjoying the conflict between being an upstanding teacher (black Jesus) and morally ambiguous crime fighting superhero. Also, the bad guys are suitably nasty and grounded (that is, not giant robots or monsters).
My main problem is with Black Lightning's suit. It's a bit...silly. It's only a small step away from those crummy super hero TV series of the 70s and 80s.

Watched both eps, and I like it. I prefer it to luke cage so far.. Although I'm not far into that ether.
I'm very interested in how his eldest daughters story is developing.. The youngest is just a liability.. Get shot of that one
