Pirelli wheels only correct on late Mk1's - not on an early one
It was a late MK1Edit - go look it up SRC 924X is a 1600 not an 1800

Paint is crap on golf and wouldn’t you have taken the awful roof spoiler off?
Crap paintHorrible roof spoiler
Front bumper warped
Black vinyl trim missing from tailgate
Rear wiper parked incorrectly
Structural rot underneath
It's a £4K car in current times? It'll have been fifteen hundred quids worth 5 or 6 years ago.
Ironically, that Zender 3 piece boot spoiler was quite desirable in the day.
Still can't believe £12k, I had 2, some ex-owners must have stronger rose tinted specs than me.

Even though there are some obvious flaws, I thought it was quite good - One of the better offerings of recent times. Wasn't expecting much insight into the restoration, so that was nice.
Will definitely tune in next week.
same for me too, nice to see some quality british firms being featured and actually doing the job. The programme was attempting to be informative. Having sat through the banal goblin works this week then I wasn't expecting much but this was better. I'll watch again. Pritchard adds little to the programme, we will have to endure his inflated ego now pretending to be a car classic dealer as opposed to the jumped up car booter he actually is but heho...if the programme's alright i'll live with it. The tall guy came across well. Will definitely tune in next week.
Quite enjoyed that, just a bit annoying that too many bits wrong on the Golf (nearly all outlined above).
For example, they put some P-slot alloys on with correct logo centre caps which are not only wrong for that model but also are very rare and will cost far more than the correct alloys.
Here's one looking more correct (and 2/3 the price)

That Golf looks nice. But.... is the intermediate bulkhead coming away from the inner wing behind the NSF strut top mount? Also, why in the name of Gods green earth have the top mount bolts been painted red?!For example, they put some P-slot alloys on with correct logo centre caps which are not only wrong for that model but also are very rare and will cost far more than the correct alloys.

I understand that Pritchard fancies a TV career,he was on Talksport a while ago stating his plans, he has had cars on his website for awhile. I owned a Mk1 Golf that rusted in some very hard to spot places. I think the !800 engine is better,i would except a 1800 at that price, the driving lights work, the standard lights are rubbish.Golfs have poor brakes because of the right hand dtive conversion.I think the programme is totally underwhelming!

Is there a Lotus beard in the house ?
Should this car have Stromberg carbs ,thought these had side draughts ?
I'm not an expert by any means but there was a period towards the end of the development of the Elan and Elan +2 when for a while Strombergs were used, before reverting to Webbers, and I think this was the reason for the bonnet bulge on some models. They are not as desirable as Webber carb'd cars.Should this car have Stromberg carbs ,thought these had side draughts ?
It’s interesting for me how TV is becoming the poor relation to online content for car shows.
I think because tv needs to be deemed appealing to a wide audience to justify the budget the dumbing down actively works against it.
If this was on YouTube it would have relatively few subscribers / views yet I bet the cost of production is multiple times higher.
It’s not total rubbish though and I’m happy to see as many car / bike shows out there as possible.

The tall guy is a chap called Paul. I went to school with him. He owns 20 + cars (some really interesting off the wall stuff). He is a proper petrol head and knows his stuff. Gassing Station | TV, Film, Video Streaming & Radio | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
