So did I, and have exactly the same feelings about it. I'm just happy it was as good as the original, and it looked beautiful despite the 3D glasses (thought I had booked a 2D screening...).

Fun fact, I've never (ever) seen any film in 3D.All subsequent 3D films I have seen have looked like layers of 2D that are moved sideways at different speeds, which is an effect that really jars for me and I don't like - it really jars and takes me out of the film. I kind of stopped going to 3D screenings after a few of those.
It turns out that Avatar was filmed in 3D, which is very expensive to do, and these other films are all filmed conventionally and the 3D applied post-production.
Got around to watching Justice League and my God what complete and utter garbage that movie was. Absolutely terrible imo!!! Batman vrs Superman was way better. It seems like BvS was the typical TV14, dark and appropriately made, then JL follows but it seemed as if it was made with stty CGI and as if the rating was aimed at young children. Soooo bad that movie was. I think my favorite part was the ending where Superman and the Flash race. ( wait, is it Flash?)
Also watched Guardians of the Galaxy 2. Really enjoyed it. Incidentally, I met the boyfriend of the girl who played the part of the woman with the antennas on her head, I forgot her characters name.
And I also got around to Thor: Ragnarock. I enjoyed that very much. The humor was well placed and I loved the graphics\scenery, the sort of 80's feel to it along with the music and Jeff Goldblum played the part perfectly.

Isle of Dogs
I am not sure what strand of DNA makes the Japanese so batsh*t crazy but this animation is no exception to their warped and unconstrained imaginations.
It's so bizarre, i'm not even going to say anything more than it is a film about a conspiracy theorist which happens to be about an actual conspiracy to rid the world of dogs. You get the impression you're only getting half the overdubbed translation which doesn't help.
Glad i watched it though.
There is nothing to really compare such weirdness to, so I score it a grand total of green thimble out of imaginary string.

It's Wes Anderson and he is batsh*t crazy (but not Japanese)I am not sure what strand of DNA makes the Japanese so batsh*t crazy but this animation is no exception to their warped and unconstrained imaginations.

You could compare it to Wes Anderson's other stop-motion film Fantastic Mr Fox (to which it is superior). My film of the year (so far).I am not sure what strand of DNA makes the Japanese so batsh*t crazy but this animation is no exception to their warped and unconstrained imaginations.

Mea Culpa
BBC I player
Yet another solid action film from France which goes to show they beat hands down anything coming from the other side of the Atlantic.
OK, it sub-titled, but the story, sub-plot, love interest all speak for themselves.
Drug dealers, random killings, ex cop, child witness, revenge, machine guns, chases on foot and scooter, lots of black leather jackets, bullets flying everywhere and it all works out in the end.
Give it a try 9/10.
BBC take a hint we want many more like this.
Available for 12 more days so don't miss it.

Six episodes, covering one 24 hour period in the lives of a number of Parisiens, from the heads of government to the lowest scumbag.
Really good!

In a word No but not sure how I missed it as my Saturday nights have been dominated by Spiral, Spin, and a selection of All4 Walter presents picks. Six episodes, covering one 24 hour period in the lives of a number of Parisiens, from the heads of government to the lowest scumbag.

Some top quality entertainment on the playback channels too.
Will give Paris a run - thanks for the heads up.

If you haven't seen it, 'Before We Die' is good too. Swedish crime series; really enjoyed that. Some top quality entertainment on the playback channels too.

Danish series 'Below the Surface'... that was pretty poor though; don't bother.
'Follow the Money' - two seasons of that - was a very good Danish series.
US/German TV series - Counterpart.
The core of it is Tinker Tailor, with a little bit of a sci-fi twist to make the premise work. It's much more layered than le Carré though, with investigations into the definition of self identity, and nature versus nurture.
The entire thing is cemented together by the outstandingness that is JK Simmons, giving a class in minimalist acting in every scene.
I'm only about half way through but so far a highly recommended 9 Oldmans / 10 Guinnesses.
