Closer

Ian Curtis bio from Joy Division. Committed suicide at 23. Very good film and enjoyed it a lot.
7.5/10

Pulp Fiction

Never gets old. Must be 15 times now I've seen it.
8.5/10

Also for those worrying about the swearing and stuff, another vote for parents guide on imdb to jog your memory about the 'bad' parts.

My son is only 11 so a few on that list will have to wait a few more years. I can't remember anything particularly nasty in T2 so I think that will be ok but correct me if my memory has failed. Terminator 1 will definitely have to wait as will Shawshank, Usual suspects, Saving Private Ryan and a few others.
If you think he’s ready for T2 then he’s ready for T1. Been a while since I’ve seen either but in T1 you see Linda Hamilton’s jugs as Michael Beihn is giving her one, plus a bit - but not a great deal - of effing and jeffing, and in T2 there’s a LOT of effing. Both have plenty of violence (natch) but not much gore, except Arnie working on his damaged eye in T1 and cutting off the skin on his forearm in T2.

I wouldn’t think either film is less suitable for an 11 year old than the other. The rest though are very soft in comparison.

Rampage

Another better than expected film although CGI was not that good. Of course its massively cliched but who doesn't like monsters? Worth a watch

All my 4 children where introduced to, "good films" with The Life Of Brian from the age of about 11-12ish.

Imagine my wife's surprise when she came back from a late, (Nurse) and found the children rolling with laughter on the sofa to the sound of, "He's not the Messiah, he's a very naughty boy"!

We watched T1 yesterday, skipped the sex scene, my son remarked "cringe" when they started getting it on which made me laugh.

He noticed that there were more on-screen deaths than in T3.

T1 was originally 18, T2 was 15 and T3 was 12a.

T1 has been knocked down to a 15 by Sky, which kind of shows the way society has gone a bit, what shocked in the 80's/90's is pretty standard now, you'll hear worse language and more graphic sex on any post watershed reality tv show or drama.

Just watched Incredibles 2 with my son.

He enjoyed it but I was disappointed. The first movie is my favourite Pixar movie but this fails to match it in any way. I actually fell asleep for 15mins near the end as well.

Its certainly not terrible but only a 7/10 for me.
Snap - hard act to follow, most of the humour was via the baby and Edna

Justice league

Went int this mostly unaware of this not seen any of the origin movies.

Nearly turned it off then gal Godot turned up in some tight trousers yes I am that shallow.

Literally a remake of 3 different marvel movies

5/10 all 5 for gal.

Bad.
I watched this last night, quite possibly one of the worst films I have seen in a long time. I can suspend belief and live in a world where superheros exist but this was just drivel...... Almost no story/plot to talk of, characters that I couldn't connect with and dialogue which felt like it was written by a child.

Marvel do this stuff so much better.....

The original Mad Max. Brilliantly trashy, with the complete lack of budget (such as the blatantly obvious fake front on the truck that hits the bike) only adding to its appeal. Although I did get nearly halfway through before realising the blu ray has the original Australian audio as opposed to the American dub.

One of my top five films of all time.

I remember eagerly promoting it to my son in his late-teens - he agreed to watch it and I grabbed a rip, not realising it was the American dub. The enstification caused by that simple change from one English to another English was so marked as to be disastrous.

It's a very definite Aussie-lingo only film!

One of my faves as well, I'm waiting patiently for it to be shown in a local cinema.

Hopefully.

Watched two films this w/e - "Avengers: CGI war" which had me yawning by the end. I mean, why do these superheroes bother picking up buildings and dropping them on each other when it clearly doesn't affect them in any meaningful way? Also, did the big lump actually drag A MOON down on Iron Man, which basically resulted in him saying "oof, that smarted a bit" and just carrying on? The end where half the people died was quite impactful, though of course its all the st characters that get killed off (rather than Captain America/Iron Man etc) and besides, I assume they get brought back in some convoluted way. I think im tired of the Marvel films...

Also watched the new Tomb Raider, fully expecting to hate it, and found it a rather enjoyable romp, and quite liked the new Lara Croft character/actress. The plot, and certain scenes, did seem very similar to Raiders & Last Crusade.

I thought Mad Max 2 was discernibly the best of all the originals. It had a much wider scope and far less sentimentality. Max was, by that time, severely hardened and cynical of absolutely everything. 'Road Warrior' was right!

just watched Eyes Wide Shut and reached the same conclusion.... again. She has had so much Botox these days her face is frozen and in a state of constant surprise.

As to the film its my 3rd or 4th viewing and still not sure if its a work of understated genius or pretentious twaddle

If you like NK (and who wouldn't?), then her Jimmy Fallon interviews are very funny (watch in order):

Liam Neeson as Mark Felt: The Man Who Brought Down the White House

Felt (see what I did there?) like a TV movie: 5 out of 10.

Wind River...on Netflix.

Film about a hunter (Jeremy Renner) helping a FBI agent (Elizabeth Olsen) solve a murder on a Native American reservation.

Thoroughly enjoyed it!

Yep - I watched that a while back - very good indeed. Slow but satisfying story-telling.
