Caught Heat on Dave, never seen it before but what a film - certainly the gun battle post robbery set the surround sound off like a good un! Proper wow factor.
Based on a true story and Andy Mcnab helped with gun training.George Smiley said:
Seriously? If so then what brass balls they had and hope the death count was for artistic license.
Certain sceneshttp://www.denofgeek.com/movies/heat/25530/michael...
''as the crooks attempted to flee the scene in a getaway car, Adamson and his partner opened fire. An on-foot chase ensued, with McCauley ultimately brought down on a local resident’s front lawn by one of Adamson’s bullets. It was an abrupt end for one of Chicago’s most prolific career criminals, and McCauley’s story would eventually be retold - albeit in fictionalised form - almost exactly 30 years later in Michael Mann’s crime thriller, ''
the background, interviewing cons, actor training, make it seem very real, one of my favorite films.

Just watched Train to Busan, the Korean zombie film, it's been mentioned many times already.
Brilliant film. Up there as one of my favourites just from seeing it once .
Thanks for the heads up. Just watched it and thought it was fabulous. Loved it.Brilliant film. Up there as one of my favourites just from seeing it once .
The Meg
"That was rubbish, I loved it" said the chap in front of me when leaving the cinema. I pretty much agree, very little desire to see it again but good fun whilst it lasted. Nothing wrong with a film that knows its place, the moment the billionaire guy says what we were all thinking when we first see the view outside the windows on the research station was the moment I relaxed and went with it.
Impressively it's blown all estimates out of the window and has made a huge amount of money this weekend.

Just watched the brilliant 'The Disaster Artist'.
Biop of this (possibly) Polish loon who manages to make the worst film ever with his own funds.
Great cast, James Franco is good with some nice support work from some well known faces.
Really enjoyed it.
We shall be watching 'The Room' in the near future!
We watched 'The Room' straight afterwards, it really is SO bad it's good Biop of this (possibly) Polish loon who manages to make the worst film ever with his own funds.

Just watched Eye in the sky, with Helen Mirren and Alan Rickman...his last film role along with Aaron Paul. Great movie showing the inability of politicians to make real world decisions.
Wife and I watched it too, she stayed awake to the end which makes it an 8+.As someone who frequently has to make the numbers fit the desired outcome and deal with Olympic-level buck-passing and arse-covering - and mine is only in corporate IT, it was more than disheartening to realise the same crap happens when lives really are at stake.

Father of The Year
The funniest thing I've watched in years. More than a hint of National Lampoon in it and probably a future classic.
8/10
I’ve just turned this off 35 mins in. It didn’t appear to have one particular plot, more a series of random attempted comedy sketches. Wasn’t for me. The funniest thing I've watched in years. More than a hint of National Lampoon in it and probably a future classic.

Dead Man Running
On late Freeview last night, started at 11.00pm and I groaned when Danny Dyer in stereo type role appeared but stuck it out to the finish at 1.00am and actually quite enjoyed it.
A typical geezer film of the time ( 2009 ) ie Lock Stock etc., that is how do you get '100 Large' together in 24 hours to pay a mob debt and your mum is held hostage and where it all works out with a twist at the end.
7.5/10
....pacing myself for Equalizer 2 this coming weekend. Some gratuitous violence never harmed anybody.

Incredibles 2, wow, what a great film; well written, drawn, acted, plotted. Probably as good as the first, so good to see a film that is smart as well as exciting. THe 50's style spy music evoking Goldfinger and the like, and the intelligent chat on roles and ideas. The macguffin of the baddie might have been a weak link but it was pretty brilliant all round
