Rambo 3 is a video game, and pretty horrible in political terms now.
Great video

I think Rambo should have died in First Blood, but then we wouldn't have Rambo, which I really like.

Terminal
On Prime at the minute. Enjoyed it and good twist at the end, really don't expect it. Saw someone on here say its not as good as it inks it is which I totally agree with.
7/10

Absolutely ages since I'd seen this so watched it again last night. Just an absolute joy. Joe Pesci chewing up the scenery with Marisa Tomei providing fantastic support. Love the banter between the two of them. Fred Gwynne superb too. Oh and Marisa's a minx.
Haven't seen this for ages. Keep spotting on Netflix and being scared to revisit it in case it's not as good as I remember. Sounds like I need to give it go Absolutely ages since I'd seen this so watched it again last night. Just an absolute joy. He was considered a bit old at the time, but it's a seminal performance by Pesci. He'll probably be remembered for that, Goodfellas and Home ALone.
He has some cracking lines (in fact all three of them do). While watching it I realised I knew loads of them by heart because they're so good. NY accent confusion is a thing of beauty.Halb said:

Thanks for the link. FWIW, I don't think they were being particularly clever with Rambo II & III. They were box office vehicles of its time (and basically the same movie reshoot in different locales). I mean Rambo is kindof a god anyway, and they were pretty knowing in Rambo III with this:Great video

Zaysen: Are you insane? One man against trained commandos... Who do you think this man is? God?
Colonel Trautman: No. God would have mercy. He won't.
With the series reboot in 2008 with Rambo, the all out nihilistic violence could be Stallone making a commentary against Burma OR other human rights abuses. Or.... it could be a reaction against the dumbing down of action moves / Marvel-isation of cinema. I guess consumer tastes have changed, you don't need 80, 90s style ultra violent movies when you can boot up Call of Duty at home - so cinema has become happy clappy. Dark films are very few and far between these days, but Rambo stands alone for being properly bleak compared to say the Expendables that comes 2 years later.
Deadpool 2
Not as good as the first. Tries to do to much and is lessened by it. Just a bit too self-aware for its own good. Too many characters, so most are under used - it's like they brought many in for a particular joke, then didn't know what to do with them afterwards. Still, has many genuine laugh out loud moments, though it's telling when the end credits scenes are arguably the high point of the film...

A Simple Favour
A real surprise, very funny dark thriller/comedy with brilliant performances from Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively.
A rare film that ramps things up and up but knows how to end, in fact it gets better and better (and funnier) as things progress.
I'd watch it again just for Kendrick's facial reactions to whatever obscene thing she's hearing, loved it.

Biggest and best surprise of a movie in ages.
And how hot is Blake Lively?

Although the use of Take on Me (but the original and acoustic) and the whole throw back to the 80's video was done beautifully....for a fun film. Not as good as the first. One thing though I thought the final scene with his girlfriend was really well done and actually made me think that scene had a different director
6/10 for me and probably not worth a sequel.
