Awful but great. But awful.

Based on a Dean Koontz book, first one I was ever given as a child that was in a stack of books from my aunt. 7/10 from a creature feature fan
Affleck was the bomb in Phantoms

I don’t have that problem.

Mine will watch about 3/4 then ask me if she’s seen it before.

I rather like that film. It's one of those low budget creature features that got no fanfare but is worth a watch. I always watch it when it's on the box.

Saw Stephen Kings The Dark Tower on HBO last night. My God what total rubbish. So bad in so many ways. Shallow characters and acting.

I've seen it, I liked it and recommended it to a couple of people asking about it. After they saw it, one came back to me saying it was nothing special, the other (a horror film fan) came back saying it was terrible and they walked out of the cinema with 40 minutes left. So maybe it's a marmite film. I like marmite though.

Loved Us but as per usual it was an original film that relatively few people on PH went to see. Weird as it did pretty strong numbers at the UK box office (£12m), quite a bit more than Pet Sematary, happily.

So many ways to read the film, I think the best way to enjoy it is to forget the logistics, as they really aren't the point of the film at all (and in any case, the exposition dump was by a very damaged character, so may not have been reliable anyway).

Split

Wonderfully acted by McAvoy. Quite enjoyed I I even though this generally isn't my sort of film.

7/10

Should I have seen, Unbreakable first?

No. They aren't related.

Just the final scene.

Which reminds me, I still haven't seen Glass.

Alice in Wonderland (2010)

I saw this once before a few years ago and liked it.

It's currently on BBC2 and it has not fared so well for me this time round. The CGI has dated very badly, and looks very unconvincing and jarring, rather than engaging. Or maybe I'm just not in the right mood for it tonight.
