Just back from John Wick 3. Everything I expected really, good but not a classic.

Watch the first set of inventively violent killings, walk out of cinema for a pint, come back with ten minutes left and it's as if you've never left. Done so much better by John Woo back in the day.

Upgrade - Futuristic revenge film with a good twist. Extra points for being quite violent. Also a Pontiac Trans Am and a lovely Dodge Challenger

8/10

Rosemary's Baby

Actually very good, I avoided it in the past as I'd mistaken it for a Stephen King book

I thought it was a SK thing as well.

Didn't realise it was as old as 1968, too.

I saw it in 68 when I was 14.

Shall I go, find a corner and die?

I was 20 in 68. After you.

A great movie, which was shot at the Dakota Building on Central Park West NYC. Outside which John Lennon was assasinated in 1980.

The Ladykillers - the Coen brothers remake

been sitting in my planner for ages, a lazy Sunday and I buckled

massive Coen brothers fan but this was curiously awkward and a hard watch

The Mule (Clint Eastwood).

Not watched such a simple, spelt out for idiots, predictable film for a while. Harmless. Unrewarding.

Avoid unless you like being spoon-fed.
Similar to A Man With a Gun?

A film that just gently travels along and keeps you in a state of total relaxation.

Redford did one recently on a boat. He doesn’t talk at all until about ten minutes from the end when he swears and that’s it.

Strangely relaxing to watch.

Upgrade.
Really enjoyed that. Very well done guessing low budget.
Got the twist sort of, but not the ending or bits that led up to it so was pleasantly surprised.
Not what I expected at all.

Enjoyed Upgrade too but also didn't get the ending. Maybe I had too much wine.

Wine Country - Netflix film - A group of lady friends going to Napa Valley for a birthday weekend and drinking wine. I liked Amy Poehler in Parks and Rec so thought it might have some credit. It didn't. Utterly cringeworthy. 0/10

I assumed AI fully takes over his conscience and body (shoots cop and walks off), whereas his subconscious is dead and joins wife in some afterlife place
