UPSIDE

Kevin Hart & Bryan Cranston movie.
Really enjoyed as Kevin Hart didn't over do it.

"A comedic look at the relationship between a wealthy man with quadriplegia and an unemployed man with a criminal record who's hired to help him."

8/10
Now watch the original! The Intouchables
Yeah Upside was 7/10 maximum mainly because I have seen the original. If you haven’t I can see why you would score higher

Donnie Darko

I watched this when it came out and then once more a few years later. Enjoyed the film but felt that I didn't really get it. Sure, time travel to save his girlfriend etc etc.

So we sat down to watch it again last night and I picked up on alot of things I'd missed the other times and I still felt like I didn't really understand the end. Went online and read the excerpts from grandma death's book and it explains the film almost entirely.

Why they didn't give it some decent screen time is beyond me but I feel the film is greatly more enjoyed by having all the info

Wonder Woman

I've been meaning to watch this for a while, and it's currently available an Amazon Prime.

As my dad would say, "It had its moments". All got a little silly at the end and went a bit Marvel with a big CGI showdown fight which felt rather unnecessary and then kind of ended.

Lost interest halfway through.
Maybe start at the first one and build interest in the series

Overlord.

WW2 horror film.

Surprising high production values, I thought it would be just straight to dvd fare but pleasantly surprised.

Really enjoyed it, had plenty of tension too.

8/10
Agreed, expected it to be a bit rubbish but it was far better than I expected with a really good pace.

As mentioned above by someone else:
Upside

I was a bit worried about Kevin Hart but it was great in the end.

7/10 as it was a bit too nice in places.

I won't be watching the French original.

I’ve been off work for a week with nothing at all to do so I watched;

Superman
Superman 2
Superman 3
Superman 4
The Longest Yard
The Do Over
Unstoppable
The Taking of Pelham 123
21 Jump Street
22 Jump Street
The Great Escape
21 and Over
That Awkward Moment
Mean Machine
First Man
Full Metal Jacket
American Beauty
Cube
The Cabin in the Woods
Juliet, Naked

I think that’s it. I’ve wasted a week off to be honest.

I loved this in the cinema, unfortunately another original (and decent) film that nobody went to see even though it got a wide release, so unlikely to see more of these types of film in future that aren't straight to Netflix types..

Have you seen the Richard Donner cut of Superman 2? I was amazed at how different a film it was to the theatrical version.

'Arrival' It was on Film4 a while ago and is on again Tuesday 23rd. Quite thought provoking and far better than ET or Close Encounters, etc.

Stuck on Back to the Future for what I think is the first time since I saw it when it was released, mainly due to the Mrs not having seen it.

She promptly fell asleep (as per normal) and I watched it a bit longer. I can't make up my mind as to if it's aged badly or there is poor acting in it, just can't put my finger on it.

I paused half way through and will finish it this week...

I’d never heard of it. Nearly didn’t watch because I didn’t fancy a heavy ww2 film but nothing else was on.

Didn’t know anything about it but was hooked from the plane scenes then just got better.
