I watched the original 1993 Battle Angel Alita OVA (anime) today, for the first time in decades. I'd forgotten just how awful it was. Totally watered-down, glossed over, missing-the-point adaptation of the original manga. It suddenly makes the recent live action remake seem a whole lot better.

I think I need to go re-read the manga to expunge the awfulness from my mind.

Apollo 11 Wow! Just wow. Way better quality footage than I've seen previously and took a while to get in to the mindset that it was real footage and not a movie set. Very well put together, I was expecting a documentary using archive footage, but all the voice overs were actual recordings from the time, so bits of it really came across as if you were watching live. Easily the best film I've seen a fair while.

A Simple Favour

Entertaining "thriller" with Blake Lively sperm and Anna Kendrick.

Bit silly by the end but worth a watch.

Sunshine Cleaning

A nice little midweek film to take your mind of this weeks headlines.

Two sisters in dead-end jobs start a little business cleaning up crime scenes.

Lots of problems surrounding their lives as well as being thrown in at the deep end in their new venture.

Doesn't sound too interesting but actually a lovely little film that kept me entertained to the end.

Far better than most other dross you find on Netflix or Prime!

7.3 missing fingers/10 corpses.

Went to see The Lion King last night. Timon and Pumbaa basically stole the entire show with their banter. Overall it was very good but I don't think it'll ever top the original. 7.5/10

Sounds like the TV series, La Chica que Limpia (The Cleaning Lady) an Argentinian TV show which is on All4 ( www.channel4.com/programmes/the-cleaning-lady ).

Finally watching Dunkirk tonight in a bit.

Is it true in the cinema version they had a clock counting down?
