Dunkirk on prime, up early this morning so I thought I would watch it.
I’m still not sure I liked/disliked it, that could be a good thing as it is making me think which I rarely do with films.
I know I would not of liked being there.

I’m going 6.5 dive bombers out of 10

Hobbs and shaw

Er.... um...... well the cinema was empty.

Pretty poor actually. Watch the trailer again it’s more fun than the film.

4/10

Hobbs and Shaw this weekend. The plot is a bit thin, as is the acting, it tries a bit too hard to be cool, then lays it on thick with "family". But it rattles along nicely and you do get lots of action and a couple of genuine laughs. 6/10

The Theory of everything - stopped after 45 mins. It's mostly about Steven Hawking descending into MN disease. It's a tough watch. I'm sure many people have seen this first hand with many diseases, seeing fit and healthy people slowly succumb. It all got way too dusty.... I'm sure its a great film but ...

Re-watched Fast 8 with my son, he's not seen any of them (1-4 being released before he was born) but became interested when the Hobbs and Shaw bandwagon started rolling.

Standard 6.5/10, plenty of action/things to look at, and quite funny in places. Brain firmly unplugged as usual.

They're all on sky now so will probably go back to the beginning this week and watch them all with him smile

In anticipation of Top Gun 2, the DVDs were raided and I watched

The Final Coundown. It's not dated one bit.

An indulgence of naval air strength with lots of tail pipe shots as reheat goes on, F14 Tomcats, Prowlers, helicopters, air refuelling, deck take-offs and landings.
USS Nimitz sails through a time warp into firing range of the Japanese fleet about to attack Pearl Harbour. What to do ?
" .... splash the Zeros.."

What's not to like with a stormy August night outside clamping down on my usual mission going to the pub.
8 side-winders/ 10 drop tanks.

Hobbs and Shaw - Bit silly but rather fun - even Sister D enjoyed it!

Transformers 4. Wow. WHat an unimaginable huge turd of a film. I know the first three are fairly awful, but they have moments of OKness relying heavily on nostalgic value of misused characters. But the editing and incoherentness of 4 just goes to another level, I didn't think I'd see anything as bad as this. SOme old films have editing issues (Casino Royale), TF4 harks back to those days. Utter ste, I can only imagine 5 equals it for it's atrocious quality in filmaking biggrin

Smiler.

A Perfect Day on Netflix.

An NGA working in the former Yugoslavia during the conflict send a team to remove a corpse from a well.

A bit different from the norm. A solid 7/10.

I kind of want to watch that purely for the locations. They filmed part of it on Leadenhall Street that I walk twice a day, also in the Scalpel and the cheese grater

Not a film but my wife has been watching Gossip Girl.
Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds wife, is the worst actress ever.

I’ve never seen her in any other films or programs but she has a vacant look in this program.

The Lion King in 4D

Went to the 4D Odeon in E Didsbury at the weekend. I've never experienced 4D before, and don't really like 3D that much.

It was really good fun, but it's one of those things that once you've done it, you've done it. If Top Gun 2 comes in 4D I'll definitely seeing that!

The film - as others have said it's pretty good but lacks the charm of the original, worth a watch though.

Film - 6/10 4D Experience - 8/10
