Taken down to Blinded By The Light by my wife.

Always avoid if possible, “feel good films”.

Well, this was one of those and I thoroughly enjoyed and it took it for what it was!

Young Pakistani lad in 1987, living at home under the thumb of a domineering father discovers Bruce Springsteen which points him in the right direction and opens up his life.

Of course it’s ham but great with it!

Fast and Furious 8. Even after taking the brain out it was impossible to miss the ridiculousness of it all.

Still was good fun but raises the question, in ff8 Hobbs and Shaw seem to make up so why in their spin off do they still hate each other?

7 / 10

Do you mean who the voice was? I studied the credits but I am none the wiser. Would you mind repeating her name please (save me a search) ?
I’m not meaning the voice actress.

I’m meaning the character who was helping him in the movie.
Ah OK. Ta.

Crawl.
A hurricane floods Florida and the alligators are loose in the water. A woman and her dad are trapped in the basement of his house. It's a B-movie with better CGI. Extra point for the end credits song.

Angel Has Fallen.
Kermode said it was faint praise to call it the best 'Fallen' film as that franchise is a pretty low bar hehe
Nick Nolte owns the film as Gerard Butler's dad. Some questionable police chase antics when you set up a road block, make sure there isn't a turn off in the road just ahead of it. But yes it is the best of the three films. PS. Stay for the credits scene.

Nah I’d set up a road block with a turn off on purpose but I’d have somebody down that road and radio them if anybody turns off. Wouldn’t bother stopping anybody on main road, just wave them on, no need.

Instant Family

Surprisingly very good I thought.

Typical Mark Walberg funny family movie but very well done that tugs at your emotions.

I too enjoyed this, I took it in the spirit it was perhaps meant, an old school Boys Own type action adventure.

Lovely lil retro film, in the same vein as Son of Rambow. It's actually 10 years old, never seen it before.

Big Trouble in Little China, because I had a rubbish day and it never, ever fails to put a smile on my face. Just so much fun, and Kurt Russell is brilliant as the macho action hero - who is oblivious to the fact he's a complete moron that only ever succeeds with help or by accident.

A bit like Hong Kong Phooey. biggrin

Edit: And Inspector Gadget, now I come to think about it.

She does, yes. yes

Another film of that vintage with her in it is Split Second, which is a bit of an Alien b-movie starring Rutger Hauer but I have quite a soft spot for it.

Absolutely love BTILC
It's in my top ten 80s films, and that's stiff competition.

For any that have not seen this illuminating video, here ya go.
