Casino Royale.
I usually watch most 007 films with a few exceptions.

I don't like the Vesper drowning scene at the end.....frown

006 DB5s out of 0010 DBSs.

10/10 for the Chris Cornell opening tune.
And tonight I obviously watched Quantum of Solace.

10/10 for the opening car chase ,I've driven down that road west side of Lake Garda.

10/10 for Olga Kurylenko and Gemma Arturton.....cloud9

I only found out last night that her first name was Strawberry......silly ...1/10 for that.

Liked the line......"you were supposed to shoot her....."Well I missed !"

Overall ......7 Carabinieri out of 10 Alfa Romeos.

Incredibles2 for me last night.
Great entertainment, loved it. The animation looks so realistic now too.

Toy story was on this afternoon, watched it with the kids, still great but hard to believe it's nearly 25 years old.

Home Alone yesterday.

My son hadn't seen it before, he said it was "pretty good for a 30 year old film"

Funny really, the plot was a stretch as it is, but with mobiles/social media etc it wouldn't be valid today.

Anyway, class film, 9/10.

It's my vote for the family Christmas film tonight.

I'm thinking 'Trading Places' hehe

Was flicking through channels last night. Watched Mary Queen of Scots (2018). Thought it was a good film for a couple of hours. Easy to watch and engaging.

Tomb Raider (2001)
Currently on telly

American Angelina Jolie doing a passable English accent talking to Englishman Daniel Craig doing an American accent.
I really like that film and Angelina Jolie is the perfect Lara Croft. I have see the Land Rover at the British Motor Museum at Gaydon.

Uncle Buck (1989)
ITV2

Good stuff.

John Candy's one of my favourite actors & Uncle Buck's one of his best films.

Of mild interest & for a bit of Thread continuity: Jacob's Ladder (original) and Home Alone have both recently been discussed. Macaulay Culkin, who's in Uncle Buck, was also in both of those films, which were released in order of UB, JL & HA (both 1990).

You're correct on one point though, Dirty Grandpa was a stinker of a film.

Long haul over the weekend, so I picked

Parasite A Korean movie about an unemployed family conning their way one at a time into the employment of a successfull businessman's household and the ensuing events. Difficult to summarise, it's hard to know who to like or what to conclude due to the unexpected twists. It's good, but probably not quite as good as the rave reviews I've been seeing.

Die Hard Yippie Ki Yay, it's Christmas now.

Watched 'stand by me' for the first time. What a 'nice' film, reliant on relationships and script not cgi and action. Enjoyed it.

True enough, but redeemed by introducing me to the wonders of Zoey Deutch.

Why do you write that, is it the Asian or disabled, or both, that you think most P/Hers would object to?

If any of the above, can you back up your post with some evidence as to why you felt the need to include that, thanks. smile

Brave. An animation about a Scottish princess , a witches spell and the chaos it brings.

It is superb! The film is worth watching for the work done to animate her hair alone! It most likely did not get rave reviews because they are Scottish with Scots accents so the Americans would be buggered trying to understand a word of it.

It is indeed a great film.

First time I saw it, I thought the voice actor doing the father was doing the worst Billy Connolly impression I had ever heard. Imagine my surprise when I saw the credits and found out it actually was Billy Connolly. hehe
