The dark tower

What a load of fking old st /10

Steven king is the most over rated writer ever.

I mean come on a huge waste of Idris, he needs a decent film he chooses poorly.
The film bears little resemblance to the books, totally ruined a great story.

Good point, I hadn’t considered that.

Downsizing. 7/10

Not as bad as I feared.

Good idea and basic story. Check.
Nice production values. Check.
Fake looking miniature stuff could look fake as it was miniature. The opposite of most films using miniatures pretending to be normal size stuff.. Check
Decent lead actor. Check
Good supporting cast. Check. The Vietnamese actress Hong Chau was very good.

Slightly cheesy ending but nice little giggle moment as well.

Kept my attention and only one or two naff/drawn out bits in quite a long film. 2hr 15mins
Could lose 15 minutes and gain another point.. Potential 8/10

Damon drugged at the party was unnecessary and went on too long.

Baby driver 6/10. Usually love wright's films, but the I didn't enjoy the pacing, some of the characters or the constant use of music in this. Only the first chase scene really stood out too and some really strange choices by characters.
NOT awful, but not as great as the critics made it out to be, as usual.

Completely agree, on a slightly related tangent have you seen Wheelman, appeared more budget but imo a much better film?

Rampage this morning.

Yep, it's a big monster popcorn film that doesn't take much notice of things like physics wink . Loved it.

A Quiet Place

I'm not a fan of horror movies, but this was really good - but an insane amount of tension the whole way thru. Story line could easily have been integrated into live, die, repeat, or cloverfield series

Watched it in the Dolby cinema which gives you a kick in the back at dramatic moment which slightly detracted from the film...

8/10
Caught this yesterday. Awesome. Tension was unrelenting from the off! It's interesting to think of it as a companion piece to 10 Cloverfield Lane actually.

Lethal Weapon 4.

Weakest of the series, but I love them all so I'm not arsed. 8/10

The wife mentioned about seeing this, I'm crap with horror and suspense though!

Mrs B forced me to sit through 'Arrival', featuring what I thought would be alien action, but turned out to be one of the dullest, most boring, ste films I've watched in a while....

Hurricane Heist!
Just watched it, not bad quite fast paced but a bit predictable with a standard straight ending.
Just watched this too...

I'd like to add:

Finchy?!... Is it?!.. Narrrr... Oh it really is him!!.. Quite where his accent was supposed to be from I dont know hehe Certainly not Slough

The vehicle was cool - especially the ground anchor feature. Would come in handy when parking down the side streets of Bristol.

That film was a professional let down.

I actually had high hopes for it.

I haven't seen Hurricane Heist, but he also turns up in Ready Player One.

Hush - a deaf mute writer is stalked by a masked killer. This is a really dark film, as in I tried watching it this afternoon and could barely see what was going on. So I tried again this evening and I was glad I did, since it's a solid thriller that makes great use of sound (or lack of) and does something different when it comes to the killer.
