Interstellar, on Sky UHD

I assume sky have had a little play with the sound (if you remember loud SFX and near inaudible voices). Anyway way, it is absolutely brilliant. So much better i no longer need to mess around with the volume control
Possible I wasn’t as bothered by it on watching recently
There still a part I’ve rewound and watched with the volume up so many times I can’t figure out what she says and what he answers. When they are flying up from the frozen planet.

Watched it but thought it was a bit meh, just a mish mash of various blockbuster Hollywood films (Matrix/Inception in this case) same as the other big budget Russian films the main character has been in. (Attraction/Invasion)

Cosmos

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4477292

Cosmos explores the thrilling first hours of first contact when three astronomers accidentally intercept what they believe to be a faint, coded signal from a distant alien civilisation

Underrated first contact type drama/sci-fi, will be a little slow for some, especially the first half, but enjoyed it myself.
They did well with a low budget here, interesting enough. Thanks
I quite enjoyed it as well, it did remind me a bit of a Nick Frost/Simon Pegg comedy in a few places though.
Amazing what you do up the local common with a Volvo and three blokes!

The final scene at the house on the moor was dreadful IMO!
Totally agree. Not only did it make no sense but, as I alluded to, the improvised defences were reminiscent of Home Alone.
Great watch, up until this point frown

Recently watched Look who’s back. A German film (with subtitles) featuring Hitler in modern day Germany. A lot of the filming appeared to have been done with members of the public unaware that they being filmed. Their reactions to seeing Hitler was interesting, to say the least.

eine solide acht von zehn.

I thought this was really interesting. Worth a try, I'd say.

(Watching the film. Not bringing back Hitler)

The Expendables 1, 2 & 3 (what can I say? I'm a glutton for punishment)

Yes they are st, cheesy, poorly acted , totally improbable with no regard for logic or physics - but why did I enjoy them so much?

Score? It's the Ronseal of films - it does what it says on the tin!

The Big Ugly, Anglo-American relations go bad, when London mob bosses invest in a West Virginia oil deal in hopes of laundering dirty money. Staring Vinnie Jones, Michael McDoewell and Ron Pelman. Hang up your ballet shoes chaps, total dross.

A revisit to The Gentleman, not impressed the first time around, but 2nd time around, I really enjoyed it, Hugh Grant’s performance, it’s outstanding.

Airplane 1980, wanted some light hearted rubbish, delivered in spade loads.

Blink of an Eye, documentary about NASCAR, An inside look at 2001's Daytona 500 featuring Michael Waltrip and Dale Earnhardt Jr. Well worth a watch. First is a victory, nothing else counts.

I liked the expansion into social media, too.

And the social commentary on how literally being Hitler and espousing super nationalist views was OK, but when he killed a dog it almost ended him. laugh

Them That Follow on Sky
Starring the ubiquitous Olivia Coleman, this film is slow but compelling and even a little disturbing in places. 7/10

The Kitchen on Sky
Starring Melissa McCarthy and Elizabeth Moss, this film is based in Hell's Kitchen, New York during the 70s and is about 3 mobster's wives who entertain themselves while their husbands are in jail. 7/10

I am Paul Walker on Sky
Documentary on the life of Paul Walker seen through his friends and family. An enjoyable way to pass a few hours.

Equaliser 2, or Predictable 2. Good action, duff plot, Denzel is becoming Pacino in his penchant for presenting a caricatured version of himself for a paycheck. 5 out of 10.

The Equaliser 2, grand out up to the last 20 mins, where upon it takes a turn for the worst.

Based on a book which is utterly excellent, very readable, and highly recommended.

Though be warned, if you have also seen Jojo Rabbit that's the voice you'll be hearing Adolf in when you read it.

Look Who's Back. Is it a different name on UK Netflix or is it for USA or other another country? This is what my search came up with on the Netflix app.

It's not The Dictator, obvs hehe
