Is 'breaking even' really the height of their ambition rofl
She needs to go. Someone needs to work out why only the Marvel guy, Ferge(?),can make a big franchise work and apply it to Star Wars.

Even the Fast and Furious films are better at it!

I watched it yesterday and I thought it was better than it had any right to be.

I saw it at the weekend and thought it was good. I also think The Last Jedi is fine.

It's fashionable to put it down (and plenty of other modern films), but I dont' agree with most of the criticism.

Batman vs Superman, on the other hand....

Mines on the way from Amazon

Like TLJ I was put off watching it till the DVD came out by the negative reviews.
For some reason I have higher standard and expectations of a Cinema film while quite happy to spend £10-20 on a dvd

Those reviews are quite funny, but are always negative and very formulaic.

Without watching it I bet the acting coaching, reshoots and something mildly misogynistic about KK all mentioned in the first two minutes.

Entertaining, but hardly cutting edge satire.

I watched it again over the weekend and enjoyed it once again. I would even go as far to say it would have been great had they remembered to hire some lights.

I only shared it because it had some pretty funny jokes, the film-maker who writes it is pretty sharp (and dark) and I like it.
I don't think it's too negative, but one thing I do agree on is the comment on GoT actors, most of them are awful and get miscast a lot. The flavour of the month thing.
I'm currently watching a lot of the yt movie review things, there are so many it's nuts, most are the sort of twaddle that you'd get in a professional review or from a bloke in the pub, some are good and the level of chat here. Some are just essential viewing now for me, because they offer a lot of insight into stuff I wasn't aware off.

Bang average movie to be honest, some nice touches.

But the Solo character was very unconvincing, enjoyed some of it, but would not rush to see it again I am afraid.

fashion doesn't come into it, if the film has issues, you point them out and chat about it.

It also seems fashionable to dismiss legitimate criticism.

There isn’t very much of that on this thread. Most posts seem to be about either TLJ or the current state of the franchise within Disney.
Mostly people that have seen the film say that like it, some say they didn’t, a few went as far as to say they hated it so much they smashed up their TV, burnt down the house, took off and nuked the entire site from orbit (it’s the only way to be sure)
But little in the way of legitimate criticism of this film.

That'll be because the film wasn't bad. It had a few issues (some bigger than others) but overall most people seemed OK with it.

Which is the exact point I was making.
