Some people just went into the film expecting it to be bad, they didn't really bother watching it, so have to come up with some form of commentary to justify their point of view.

I enjoyed episodes 4/5/6. Wasn't really a big fan of episodes 1/2/3, but don't mind them. Rogue One was truly excellent. Episodes 7 & 8 were probably better than episodes 1/2/3 (just my opinion, not stating it as a fact). Solo was an enjoyable film (although I do wish they hadn't bothered with the Kessel Run).

People just seem to love coming along and moaning for no particularly good reason. The internet, giving grouchy people a voice since its inception.
What's the point of a forum if you can't add your opinion?

The female character in Solo was limp. Maybe it was the actress. For someone who was so important and had her finger in so many pies, all she did was stand there and smile a lot. It's probably the actress not portraying her well enough, not the character herself.

Well that would explain a few things... such as why that Grace woman keeps appearing in my Youtube recommendations, and as for that peculiar rash... I just don't even want to know.

If anyone is boycotting Solo, or is even just reluctant due to the abomination that was the last jedi I understand.

However, Solo is a proper fan movie, just as Rogue One was, so what is most likely to happen is that Disney pulls the plug on the side stories and continues making a rip roaring of the main films, simply as the numbers add up.

That'd be a real shame, as there has been a lot set up by Solo that most fans want to see the blanks filled in for.

Right now my hierarchy is:

Empire Strikes Back
Star Wars
Rogue One
Solo
Return of the Jedi
The Force Awakens
Prequels in any order you like
Caravan of Courage
Star Wars Holiday Special
Waterworld
Plan 9
Ang Lee's Hulk
Used Toilet Paper
The Last Jedi
Going to revisit this. I've caught TFA a few times since the festive break, it's growing on me like mistletoe.

There are (at least) 3 absolutely iconic scenes which raise it up; the one with that heap of junk, x-wings over water and the end shot.

Empire Strikes Back
Star Wars
The Force Awakens
Rogue One
Solo
Return of the Jedi
Prequels in any order you like
Caravan of Courage
Star Wars Holiday Special
Waterworld
Plan 9
Ang Lee's Hulk
Used Toilet Paper
The Last Jedi

Agree 100%, all the controversy around its financing massively overshadowed a pretty decent film with an interesting premise.

Haven't seen it in a while, but whilst a long way from the disaster most people remember it as (didn't even flop financially) it was just a bit dull and the action felt a bit too glossy, like you were watching a show at Sea World.

Waterworld, I think back then...not sure, but there was a bit of a thing to dislike KC films, a period of time he took a knocking. Waterworld, meh, it's 90s bearable fare, I quite like The Postman.

The Postman must be one of the most boring films I've ever seen - at the finale the two armies line up for an epic battle, then Costner and the baddie have a bit of a scuffle and agree to be friends. Then it cuts to a statue of him, to which I'm half surprised they didn't superimpose the stars & strips and a bald eagle over the top of. A film following an actual postman for 3 hours would have been more interesting.

This Costner and Duvall on great form. BOT Rogue One best of the lot by a mile.
