Next episode tonight. Loads of spoilers in the media about Jonathan and Steph. Jonathan and Verity as a couple and Jack and Steph would have looked like far more obvious matches to me, personality and looks wise at least.

Verity seems like a really nice girl and probably very easy to please (unlike Steph) but I can’t imagine her having much real appeal for Jack based on the suggestion that he dates stunners normally. As lovely as she is, she is plain in the looks dept, and geeky. Opposites may attract however....
I’m not disagreeing with you Jag, but regarding Verity, that was the
best example of damning with faint praise that I’ve seen in ages.

Your opinion is highly prized by me, Frank. As always.

I do think Verity is a nice girl, just an odd fit for a jack the lad type who allegedly dates stunners.

She seems it yes, and I'm sensing there is something there between them. I like her, Steph on the other hand, I can't put my finger on it, but there's something I find quite unlikable.

And this is why she remained single. I just want to give her a slap for being so mean to him.

I think I can see why they've been matched.

She's treats men like st and he's the type of man who will take it.

Doormats never succeed with women, they can smell it a mile off.

She said in the first episode she just wanted someone genuine and reliable. Quelle suprise, that is exactly what she gets and she can't stand him.

Like the women who go on First Dates and their back story is full of exes who are bad boys who st all over them "I'm fed up being used and cheated on, I just want someone nice and normal who will treat me well", someone nice and normal is chosen and they genuinely seem like a good guy and guess what "mmmm no I don't think I want to meet up again, or if we do then just as friends"; back to a life of being shat on!

Anyway I haven't been watching this but the wife has and she put it on last night, whilst I don't like Steph particularly, I think they have dropped a massive boob with her husband, they are so not compatible, I mean just look at his friends vs hers and he dresses like he's a walker!!

No surprise that Jonathan and Steph split, that was a lock within a day or two of the ceremony.
Mildly surprised at Jack and Verity, I thought that they were going to make it, although one or two asides from Jack on camera when he was alone gave me pause for thought in the final show.
I think that Verity was invested in it, and I can imagine her questioning herself at what went wrong in the final analysis.
Jack’s too often references to past girlfriends must have dented her confidence, plus her hearing his dad saying that Verity was a departure for Jack, as all his previous girlfriends were absolute stunners.
For me, she was the perfect example of a girl who wasn’t a classic beauty, but was double attractive, in looks, figure, and all round joie de vivre.
Had I met her, when I was single and in her age bracket, I wouldn’t have hesitated in mounting an easy going charm campaign, that would hopefully have blown her doors off.
I wouldn’t have rushed her to the altar, but I could envisage a long term happy relationship, which may, or may not, have culminated in marriage.
Hastening to add, marriage was never a long term goal for me when I was younger.

She was the real winner though, it was a step down for her to be connected with that Jack and his ahole dad.

I agree with you, if I was single etc etc I would've loved to have gone out with her let alone marry her. Looks fade but she had class, and that's hard to come by.

Steph had what she wanted but wanted more - she will be a lonely cat lady.

Verity was cute, funny and seemed great but Jack always said he dated stunners (basically air heads I gather) and now he has someone decent he has a complex over it. He just wants something nice on his arm to please his dad lets be honest. Very materialistic it seemed.

I reckon there was an admin error and the wrong people got matched up. Surely Verity would have been a better match for James Blunt and Jack the lad should have been paired up with the bhy blonde who seemed to be permanently on the rag.

I really felt for Verity. Not your classical stunner, but she did have something about her. She was really invested in to the whole thing, and I bet she felt dropped like a bombshell.

That said, I bet Jack had a go on her before finally giving it up.

You could see Steph was seething that Jonathon got in before her and declared the marriage over. She was more angry that for once he had taken control and stopped being her doormat.
He is so wet though, couldn’t stand up for himself for more than 5 mins before apologising.
Steph came across as a right moody cow, she looks very high maintenance and isn’t all that she thinks she is.

If, as Jack said, he played his version of being a gentleman, and didn’t make love to Verity, and if, as Verity told her male colleague, they slept in the same bed, Jack missed his vocation by going into I.T., he could have entered the priesthood.
There again, as Jack told his flatmate, and also his best man, he and Verity had “pleasured” each other, maybe Jack’s version of not having sex, was the same as William Jefferson Clinton’s, ex U.S. President.

Verity is a lovely girl. I'd go out with her if I was single. She has come out of this looking really good. She wouldn't get a but from me.

Steph is just vile. She just didn't play the game and everything she did was negative. She always stressed how much she hated things and was desperate to give up.

The constantly highlighting "different species" isn't going to help the confidence of a person you complain is lacking.

It's always old vicious woman you see with lots of cats. She's definitely going that way.

As for the sex talk, why enter this experiment if you're going to start off trying to date?

Why honeymoon and live together for 6 weeks and pretend it is all about relationship building?

Sex is an important part of a relationship. I don't know what is considered the safe period for sex, but 2 months of living together is a long long time, and far more that dating for a few weekends.

I don't see the future of this programme now. Couples don't behave like they are married they only behave like it's an early dating process.

Why get married when you don't treat it like it is?

They may as well go on blind date. The accuracy is better and you treat it like this.

I feel a bit sorry for the boys on this, missing out on the dating phase when you’re at it hammer and tongue and jumping ahead straight to a sexless marriage sucks.

Jack clearly didn’t fancy Verity, all that bs about being a gentleman and building the relationship was such obvious rubbish. He was trying to talk himself into it.
