My kids enjoyed this. Some ok cgi, kids discovering stuff and having adventures, I think it’s more aimed at 12 year olds than adults really.
How many adults grew up with Micky Mouse, Donal Duck et al and still enjoy them, I know I do.In fact, it’s becoming a popular genre on Netflix now these quality series which are suitable for children and younger teens but not Nickelodeon style, a series of unfortunate events was one of Netflix’s first big forays into this age group. Hopefully there’ll be a lot more.

Had such potential, and whilst not crap I just didn't feel it actually went anywhere at all...
It all felt like one big "previously on" designed to set up the real series (I hope anyway)
Some annoyingly stupid logic in places, but I'll watch S2 when it comes out just to see if they actually make some good use of what, if handled well (read a little darker!) could be a great 5-6 series run.

Can't stand the Dr Smith character nor the woman who plays her. I've never seen the original but why would someone who is effectively stranded on an unknown planet be such a tt?
Also the teens are half decent actors....the little lad who plays Will looks like he's stting a big one in his pants every time the camera pauses on his face. He sits there squirming around unsure what to do with his face. Can't stand him either.

Made it to the end. I’d say I quite enjoyed it by the final episode. Damning with faint praise, perhaps, but not everything is ‘must watch’ event TV.
It looks like the next season will be more recognisably ‘Lost in Space’, with the core characters. Rather than ‘Stranded on a Planet’, with one dimensional extras.
I still think they should have balanced the characters of the 2 daughters differently. It seems like one has every talent going, while the other is just ballast.

I'm with you on that one. I keep thinking about her lack of acting ability in Blade:Trinity (an awful film generally, granted). I finished episode 5 last night and I'm struggling with how stupid these supposedly 'best-of-the-best' characters are.Edited by Otispunkmeyer on Wednesday 18th April 21:32
I think it’s great fun, easy watching and a fair few great moments.
Just finished Ep7 and there were some lovely almost-wet-eyes moments in the tar pit, followed by proper guffaws with the squeaky ‘I love you’
But hey, according to some of you lot I must be a brain dead moron for enjoying this and ST Discovery and hell, I even watch Black Lightning

I loved Star Trek Discovery. I enjoyed Lost In Space. But decided life is too short to bother with more than one episode of Black Lightning. Just finished Ep7 and there were some lovely almost-wet-eyes moments in the tar pit, followed by proper guffaws with the squeaky ‘I love you’

I haven't read the comments but I thought i'd share my views after watching episode one.
And what a load of st it was.
How the fk did the alien legs chase him without being able to see? So he climbs up a tree to find the other half behind him. What? How the hell did he get up there? Any why couldn't he use his 10 arms to drag himself back down? And why didn't the little kid just boot the fking thing to the floor?
Oh and don't get me started on the magnesium... It doesn't just ignite with a spark. You need some serious heat input to get it going. Oh and good job sticking it in her hand and lighting it. She wouldn't have a hand left after that!
It was snowing when they got there. How was it so cold that the ice froze almost instantly, yet then it starts raining towards the end? Wasn't it a good thing that it started to rain? It should have helped thaw the ice.
And after the robot saves the girl, they're like 'now keep us warm'. As if all of a sudden the robot is now their bh.
3/10. Absolute bks. It only scores that high because of nice visuals.

If that’s your reaction to episode 1, I think it would be best if you didn’t watch any more. It’s very soft sci-fi with implausible characters behaviour. That doesn’t get any better. If you can look past that then there is some enjoyment to be had. If not, you’ll just get angry with it. And what a load of st it was.

It's the frustration that causes rants like the one above, the fact that they very nearly made a decent watchable show and then fked it up.
