Nothing like my school orchestra. If only we'd been allowed to do Gerry Anderson theme tunes.
Enjoyed that and their rendition of Thunderbirds.
+1 however I did go to school with a very good arranger, Martin Koch, and we played some amazing stuff at the annual school music competition. He went on to do some interesting things, I stuck with brass bands Enjoyed that and their rendition of Thunderbirds.

I have always said if a studio had the balls to make a full on movie version of Captain Scarlet it would be sensational and probably a huge franchise hit as they could have something new every time, with modern effects the Misteron devastation would be awesome...sadly it will never be.
come on - Captain Scarlet as a film or even Netflix (especially Netflix?) would be awesome!!Talking of the lovely Anouska Hempel, have you seen 'Zodiac', the rather quirky but charming 70s show about a detective (played by Anton Rogers) helped by a young woman who writes horoscopes and uses her insight to catch criminals. It is a ludicrous premise, but somehow I find it utterly charming.
It also had many other well-known 70s actors in it such as Norman Eshley (the neighbour in George and Mildred), Michael Gambon, Ian Ogilvy, Bill Maynard, Michelle Dotrice etc
Anyone who hasn't seen it, it's well worth a look and all episodes (except the first) are available on youTube.

Best thread for some time. Of course it was in black and white when I first saw it.
It would be interesting to watch again in colour. However, I recently caught an episode of The Avengers with Mrs Peel and her Lotus Elan and I have to say it was pretty dire in terms of entertainment / drama.

Bought it last year, still have the final two episodes to watch but enjoying it, very, very charming despite being studio bound and full of dialogue. Anouska was and still is gorgeous and Anton Rogers is much missed. An ITC regular who never missed a beat and he also played Roger Moore's sidekick in 'The Man Who Haunted Himself'.It also had many other well-known 70s actors in it such as Norman Eshley (the neighbour in George and Mildred), Michael Gambon, Ian Ogilvy, Bill Maynard, Michelle Dotrice etc

Had to nip down to the Mini specialist in Southam earlier today so popped into the churchyard at nearby Napton on the way back for a shuftie at Ed Bishop's grave...
Just as we were turning to leave we noticed his son's grave off to the right, sadly he died in a car crash aged just twenty. Life can be cruel sometimes.

That's kind of hollowing to see the gravestone having grown up watching him on the TV.... and sad to know about his son too.Just as we were turning to leave we noticed his son's grave off to the right, sadly he died in a car crash aged just twenty. Life can be cruel sometimes.
