Wrong programme (and it wasn't him that was the ghost).

He was also the owner of a ramshackle cargo airline in "The Brothers".

I remember that, a previously dull serial about a family who spent their time arguing about lorries, suddenly got a C47 and Kate O Mara in it.

That's the one. I actually liked it from the start because it was quite tecchie in dealing with business terms etc. I was starting out on my accounting training whilst the series was still running and it proved to be quite educational. For example, it was from "The Brothers" that I learned what a "garnishee order" is -

oh, and did I mention that it had Kate O'Mara too?

Watch out for a film called Journey to the far side of the sun doing the rounds on one of the smaller TV channels - Horror Channel.
Caught it other day
Also called Doppelgänger. Cracking film by Gerry Anderson The cars are the ones that were then used in UFO and the rocket is the same I think

A heads up - Forces TV is showing UFO at the moment. Sky 181 | Freeview 96 | Virgin 274 |

One of the best TV theme tunes out there, but I digress!
Yes, you're right.

One of the creepiest ending themes too
I remember watching these episodes when I was a kid, late at night and you're right, the ending was super creepy.

Since then I have watched it and for the life of me can't work out what the end is all about.

I'm guessing the last "planet" to come into shot is the wasted alien home world.. maybe.

Super creepy music though that would not go amiss in Alien etc

Wierd show really. Very serious but meanwhile up in space its 70s soft porn outfits on the moon lol.
Guess there has to be some sort of reason to join up for a posting to the moon.
Bet they regret flashing that 'its 1980' on the screen at the start.

I could never really understand how wearing a purple wig on the moon would help in any way...

Doubled up as survival gear, though, as you could catch fish with your jumper if need be! biggrin

Bit controvertial but this was one of the many shows that dragged on in a pointless fashion and then just fizzled out.
I think you can put the blame on how some big time producer (probably lew grade) demands 26 episodes.
Essentially he's just someone that runs a sausage factory and wants sausages.
They then struggle to fill 26 episodes but they want to keep making sausages so they never write a show with a satisfying arc to a conclusion.
Loads of lew grade rubbish from the 60s and 70s like this and gerry anderson figures prominently as the sausage factory supervisor.
Yes in amongst the dross there are a few gems (like thunderbirds) but sausage factory king low grade pulled the plug on that one and it was downhill after that.

Anderson was his own worst enemy. He always acquiesced to what Grade wanted and never really stood his ground. The fact that he actually didn't really like puppets or sci-fi also meant that he didn't have any real passion for the projects he was working on.

He always thought what he was doing was rather beneath him, I think.

Sylvia was fond of purple it seems. For the purposes of illustration, here's an example:
