I have one I can never remember. I think its an 80' American comedy about a group of young misfits I think some have powers. One is a big blue guy that can freeze things but he needs to keep cold so they drive around in a ice cream truck (american one with sliding doors like DHL) and he sleeps in the fridge. Not a lot to go on but there can't be many films with a 7/8 foot tall blue guy in them.
Sounds like it could be this:

I Googled superpowers tall guy ice cream van. hehe

Didn't realise it was a series, I always though it was a film.

OK, this one has been bugging me. At a guess its a 70's or early 80's film. In the scene I remember, a kid is out sea fishing with his dad, and he has a really big fish on the line. He's been holding and pulling on it for hours, crying and basically in bits, so much that his bare feet are bleeding on the white plastic side of the boat. I can't remember what the big fish is, maybe a swordfish.

This one has been irritating me for years, mainly as I was watching it as a kid, enjoying the film, and then got dragged away from the TV to go somewhere. Never managed to find out what it was.

WW2 film, suspect based in N Africa, essentially a chase movie across desert like region. The bit I recall is that the Allies were in this truck, there was a guy with presumably a Sten gun or similar on rear gunner duty. The driver setting off in a hurry dropped the clutch too sharply, the rear gunner lurched over the tailboard, almost fell out and accidentally loosed off a few rounds into a rear tyre.

That was the point I got dragged away from the telly. Probably B&W though we only had a mono telly at the time.

It could be this.
"The boy hooks a giant sport fish, and does battle with it for hour after hour in the blinding sun. His hands are bleeding, and his feet where they cut into the railing, but he won't let anyone else handle the fish".

It could be, especiallly the fishing part at 1:15 to 1:25 in the trailer being basically what I said hehehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3LQ-upoQQE . Maybe I'm misremembering and mixing it up with something else, but I'm sure it wasn't a period film like that, and his feet were bleeding on the white plastic sides of the boat.

There was a film too, I remember it well. A bit like a dodgy X-Men film.

Right, I know it's not Ice Cold in Alex.

It's definitely not Sea of Sand, just re-watched that.

It's not Nine Men either, again just re-watched.

Any other ideas? Otherwise it's working my way through this list avoiding Abbott and Costello Join the Army and similar.

A film or episode of something that was live action intercut with anime-ish animation. I can't remember the animated bits that well but the live action part had a small group (possibly kids) being chased around an army bunker/base/silo thing by somebody and I remember the anime parts being a bit trippy. Must've been 80s, and was set in a post-apocalyptic world from what I remember. It's been bugging me for years and is either

a) something genuinely forgotten
b) my brain confusing two different things that were on at the same sort of time

or

c) an acid flashback.

I'm hoping it's not c).

Sounds pretty cool, reminds me of Wizards (I know it's not that), but inventively similar.

No, he means the way the shot freezes and theres a narration saying "how did I end up here? etc" between 0:03 and 0:27.
I know what you mean Halb - it reminds me of something, but I suppose its been used in a billion films and TV shows.

Talking of star wars and youtube, have you ever come across the Auralnauts Star Wars Saga? What starts off as a fairly standard "lip-sync redubbing pisstake" ends up being woven into a full story spanning all 6 films about the Empire trying to open up a galactic franchise of resturants, and the Jedi's being heroin addicts. The episodes get increasing long so set aside a couple of hours one evening!

it'll have to go on the 'to watch' list.

The Whitman, Price and Haddad scene from TRM popped into my head thanks to another thread and that made me think of another film...I can't quite imagine it...almost got it...basically at the end one fella makes a phonecall to another fella from a sunny beautiful beach with a drinki hand, he's 'got away with the cash' or something, and makes a phonecall to his 'mate/comrade/partner'? Letting him know he got away, or has the cash, or made it to the beach...damn almost recalled it then...what is it?

Great thread!

Please help.

Film about a bank robbery.
Alarm expert and his son get hijacked by the gang and are forced to take part in the heist. Most memorable moment was the car chase in a Jaguar XJ6 iirc. The wheelman had done his homework, planed the route some weeks before and part of the route took them down narrow back streets. During the chase, they encounter a pair of garages that had been built down a track with a gap between them that was slightly less than the width of an XJ6, guess what happens next!

From memory it was a great film but that was probably 25 years ago!

Any ideas?
