I think you are mistaking apathy for floundering.

I watched the 1st episode of Series 2 tonight, that crash with the 4 cyclists was shocking. Good to see the culprit getting some decent jail time.

That van down the verge was sad.

The Series 1 episodes were longer than 30 minutes were they not?

the 2nd driver. I followed a guy who had a heart attack and was very similar.

Decent detective work tracking the scummy couples movements and nice to see a program that doesn't recap on what's happened every ten minutes.

It's showing on the Sky app as available for download so it must be on the iplayer somewhere!

Jesus, the dents in the car from the cyclist. There should be a special place in hell for drivers that do that. 2.5 years?

Watched this via iPlayer. Shocking crash.

When it finished iPlayer recommended ‘Car Crash:who is lying?’. Like a cross between crash detectives and 24 hours in police custody. A bit drawn out but worth a watch.

+1 the first series was one of the most interesting things on TV in 2018 (that long ago!).
I never get that in the England BBC we don't get the Welsh and Scottish stuff, yes I know its on iplayer but you never know what is there. We should get it, the quality seems better than the English stuff..
Many of the shows that are Scottish or Welsh get shown in England, just later than than they are shown at home.
Hinterland and Keeping Faith were shown earlier in Wales then repeated in England a few months later.
If you have Freesat you can watch all the regional variations of the BBC live.

Virgin Media also includes the regional BBC variants as "live on air" options.

Awful wasn't it? I couldn't work out at first what he meant until he lent across and put his arm along the dent.
The driver and girlfriend were scum. What was that bust up outside the shop all about? Horrible folk.

I watched that episode the other night. I think it's a well made little series and shows the time and effort the police put into assessing what happened. It's not unlike watching air crash investigation programmes.

Mrs "Nearly killed a load of cyclists and drove off" got to town, called son, son had a go at boyfriend (not sons dad). At this point I guess more people now know and still left them.

I thought it might be the Mrs as the fella's face was blanked at the hotel.

It's a good old fashioned documentary series. It informs and educates you, doesn't treat you like an idiot and doesn't resort to celebs or gimmicks.

Watched this in disbelief last night as the Jetta driver insisted that she had not noticed wiping out the cyclists, thinking that it was a hedge that the car had hit.

Anyone that terminally thick or dishonest should get a lifetime ban.

She was just trying to save her bacon and obviously had zero empathy for those she had almost killed.

And terminally stupid to believe that even for an instant, given the evidence, that she would be believed. If it was a strategy suggested by the solicitor it was a bad one as surely stating that she was unaware that the car had hit the cyclist it would suggest that in the very least she was not driving with due care.

S2 E2 is up on iPlayer.

I've never liked those wooden fences after someone on here had a crash and one came through the door into the cabin. If there's going to be a structure, it should be designed in a way to minimise this kind of thing.

Do we need spoilers for a documentary? biggrin

I think they said is was a 108 metre stretch that didn't have Armco and shrugged it off as bad luck he had fallen asleep at that point.
If he'd hit Armco it would have made a mess of his car but he would have survived. Awful thing for the son to witness. I hope they replace that wooden stretch soon.

I felt some sympathy for the Discovery driver. The woman was dithering around in the middle of the lane and there are times when a combination of angle of turn / windscreen pillars / sunshine / dirty windows means that not every single thing is instantly visible and 99.99% of the time you make a turn like that you wouldn't find someone wandering around in your lane. I know we all need to be watching for that 0.01% but it seemed a less likely problem than having a motorway lined with wooden posts...
