The Blu-ray and digital release is soon. Next week during the ads on BoJack Horseman in the USA there's an animated short (in the Robot Chicken style) of Predator v Santa. https://youtu.be/eDUP3gtKvhE
Makes as much sense as the film itself, and possibly took more effort to make

Another video for the marketing of the DVD/Bluray release: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWE6SwSpjyM
Turns out they filmed some alternate endings, one of which featured...............Ellen Ripley!?

I think any Predator sequel is doomed from the start. much like the first Alien, you never saw the main villain until the end. Building up the suspense and tension to the film.
You could never recreate that for a sequel as we now know the bad guy. Out of the 2 franchises Aliens is the only one to successfully work. Pred 2 was ok-ish. After that it was just trying to cash in on names.
Add in Shane 'take a dump on the Mandarin' Black and there was no chance it could be a good film.

Pictures on the net tonight show shots of yet another filmed ending, this time featuring a rather fetching young lady in a tight white body suit emerging from a pod.
Yes it's Newt from Aliens all grown up!
What in the name of Jesus H Christ on a chain-driven chariot was going on on that set? And why didn't the studio shut it down? I've said before the story of the making of this film would make a great film itself as it clearly was a cluster copulation of truly massive proportions.

Much like Alien 3. Except in that case there was a great film hidden within the studio meddling, whereas The Predator is terrible in concept, the original scenes and the reshot scenes. Very late to the party on this one but I finally watched it yesterday, my god it's awful.... and not in a good way like some of the trashy 80s action stuff, it's just bad.
What it lacked for me was any element of suspense, obviously we already know what a Predator is and looks like so that part of the first movie can't be replicated but it was all just so blatant, like they thought the audience wasn't capable of creating anything for themselves so had to spell it all out really poorly.
Thankfully we'll always have the first one to fall back on, this latest offering was like a poor attempt to copy an episode of Ricky & Morty.

Newt images on here, with the Ripley one - http://collider.com/the-predator-alternate-endings...
Completely stupid ideas though.

Newt the character?
Yep, not the actressThe boys at Honest Trailers must be pulling their hair out. Every time they think they've finished it, something even more monumentaly stupid about the production of this film is revealed.
I've got to say when it's released I think it will probably be their best ever.

I think the annoying thing is that a Predator film shouldn’t be difficult to make. The originals were good because they were pretty simple, characters looked tough, and they didn’t use excessive CGI. Moderns look laughably fake (all too clean) and the characters look as battle hardened as my newborn
