The reviews seem to be backing up was rumoured during production. That there has been a massive amount of studio interference and the tone of the film is all over the place as a result. If you look back through the trailers this certainly seems the case as the first one was centred around the kid and the last one ended up with people getting skinned and sweary rap music.
The idea that a whole character is removed from the film at the last minute at the instance of one actor is actually deeply troubling to me and I would imagine a lot of Hollywood directors. Certainly Black made a massive mistake in the current climate to cast a mate who was a sex offender as a "favour" but surely the studio should have done their research and never allowed it in the first case. However for them to cut him out of the film completely because one actor has kicked off seems ridiculous to me. If this is the case then maybe Gabriel Byrne can complain about Kevin Spacey and get him removed from The Usual Suspects on future re-issues. Wouldn't be much of a film then...…
It looks to me like Black basically lost control of the production but had so much invested in he couldn't walk away. I think there will be a very interesting story to be told about this film that will probably come out in the future.
I will still probably go and see though.

It wasn't a "whole character" as such, it was basically an extra who was in one short scene.I think it's right that Olivia Munn complained, and it was right that he was removed as a result.
I wouldn't want to work with someone with that sort of criminal history, surely this is why we have CRB checks (over here). Looks like similar checks weren't done over there.
Midnight's Edge is one of the few non grace/rlm/georg film things I listen to, hey do their work
as an aside, 'casted' insn't used in acting.

... particularly Olivia Munn who the scene was with. She complained and he's been cut out now.
What an incredibly virtuous woman. Nice of her to get the guy, who has done his time, and was in legal, gainful employment, booted off the movie. Would have ruined the film for me with him in it, obviously.popeyewhite said:

Frankly since Ghostbusters and The Last Jedi I won't trust any pre-release reviews. wjb said:
Not sure it was "legal gainful employment".

Just because actors appear in the same movie - it doesn't necessarily follow that they are all on set at the same time. I know that in the UK, with his offending history, he wouldn't have got a job working on a film with young actors in it.
Unless actors have a specific scene together, it's quite possible for a film to be shot in which actors appear the in the same movie but never actually meet.
If you work in any reasonable sized organisation or on a project involving a reasonable number of people - you are likely working worth sex offenders already. At least with ones that have been caught, prosecuted and whose history is known, you can keep tabs on them and take precautionary measures. It's the ones who haven't been caught who likely pose the most danger.

Despite reports of mixed reviews, I'm still looking forward to this but am keeping an open mind.
From the clips released so far, it looks like the 'standard' Predator is still a man-in-a-suit whereas the Mega-Predator looks like all-CGI which I don't think will work for me. There is more from the clips I could highlight that, as a Predator fan, is concerning but I don't want to spoil it for anyone else.
Anyway, some more clips below - I think they are showing too much of the film as they have released a lot of clips in the last week or so.
